basically, point the projector at whatever surface you have available, eg the top right corner of a room. it will scan the surface (project a known pattern and assess the distortions it sees in the reflected pattern), then warp the transmitted picture so that the image you SEE will be undistorted, regardless of how jagged-about the projector "screen" is.

similar concept to those football-field advertisements you see where the image is wildly skewed on the pitch but looks perfectly rectangular/readable from the camera it's aimed at

wow.
now THAT's useful. projector tv/etc no matter how much space you have in your house/where you are
