		<content type="text/html" mode="escaped">&lt;p&gt;so i was half right all along - yellow smarties are dyed with tartrazine (E102) which comes from coal tar. red smarties are dyed with carmine/cochineal (E120), which comes from crushed beetles. awesome!&lt;/p&gt;
