Right - I need a new CD to listen to in my car.
To broaden my musical horizons I'd like everyone to choose their two favorite songs, and tonight I'll bung them on a CD.
I may also play them at the IAmCal Christmas Party.

Will favourite tunes at the moment do? I'm including four instead of two...

1. Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (DJ Tiësto Mix)
2. 4 Strings - Diving (Hiver & Hammer's Different Gear Remix)*
3. Madelyne - Beautiful Child (D'Tech Vocal Remix)*
4. Matanka – Lost In A Dream (Push Mix)**

* UK CD releases due soon, MP3s of these however, are abundant on the web.

** This one only got a vinyl release, but MP3s are out there on the web.

Favourite songs of the moment:

1. (I'm No) Superman by Lazlo Blane - It's the theme from Scrubs, laid back and light but really good car music.

2. Every Morning by Sugar Ray, cos I just rediscovered it and it is great, nice and cheerful.

You will have to get all these suggested tracks and then report back with your favourites!

Zxenor: At last I have found someone on this site that appreciates good music! DJ Tiësto is my hero - I saw him live at Amnesia in Ibiza - he was awesome!

November: Delerium’s Silence rocks! Then again, so does the lovely Sarah McLachlan - her voice is amazing. Have you ever heard DJ Tiësto's 'In Search Of Sunrise' Remix of Delerium's Silence? It's the best piece of trance you'll ever hear and probably Tiësto's best work to date...

Gary: I have not heard of DJ Tiesto's. Will have to check that out.

Sarah McLachlan is my favorite female artist, I have all of her CD's.

"Full of Grace" and "Prayer of St. Francis" being her best songs, imho.

Well, the best I've heard of her work, anyway. Nov, Gary, any better songs?

Ell:

Adia is a good one and Sweet Surrender. Those in the Surfacing CD.

Um Dogstar?
As in Keanu Reeves?

Sweet Surrender is an excellent tune. Incidentally, DJ Tiësto remixed Sweet Surrender and did a wonderful job! There's something about her voice that makes it sound good on any dance tune (especially when it's remixed by DJ Tiësto). :)

I have to agree with Nov, though - the Surfacing album is my favourite and probably the best she's done so far. Some would argue that Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is better, though. When you listen to superb songs like Good Enough (from Fumbling Towards Ecstasy) you can see they have a point.

I first heard her in DJ Tiësto's remix of Delerium's Silence, and it was her stunning vocal performance in that tune that got me interested in her - before that, I'd never heard of her! After hearing DJ Tiësto's remix of Sweet Surrender and then the stunning Angel (one of my favourites tunes), I took the plunge and bought up all her CDs – I've not regretted it. I've listed some of my favourites below – all but the first are hers.

- Silence (DJ Tiësto's 'In Search Of Sunrise' Remix)

- Sweet Surrender (Original Version & DJ Tiësto's Remix)

- Angel

- Good Enough

- I Love You (Original Version & BT Mix)

- I Will Remember You

- Fear (LunaSol Remix)

- Full Of Grace

- Drawn To The Rhythm

- Vox

- Building A Mystery

- Witness

There's probably some more I've missed, but you get the picture! :)

DogStar!? Isn't that the Keanu Reeves band that my friend dragged me to see about 5 years ago... wow... I hope they are better now.
