What's it doing up your end?
28/11/05 - 14:03 hundred hours o'clock.
It's been snowing on and off all morning in central Manchester, but thankfully there's so much pollution that it seems unable to stick.

I'm in south manchester and we just built a snowman.
i'll put a picture up when i get home (forgot my camera cable)
Snow's stopped now, but it was pelting down this morning, about an inch and a half by the time it stopped.
In New Mills, just down the road:

It's proper sticking here, and still coming down. About 3 inches and counting.

Thanks a fucking bundle, Sul.
Your snow arrived when I was just starting to walk back from town. Bastard. It is now lightly snowing as I speak, although the ground is wet (so it won't settle) and it is looking like it will turn to rain.

Kudos for the ° symbol. I couldn't be arsed with opening the character map. I used to know the ALT keys for it though.

What happened cal!

A light dusting of snow on the distant hills.
Interesting that a weather thread should attract two new contributors, and both flickr subscribers.
Nice pics, guys.
on mac, they're all just reasonably logical/memorable keystrokes, eg:
option-8 = •
shift-option-8 = °
optionE+e/i/o = é/í/ó
optionI+e/i/o = ê/î/ô
optionA = å
etc etc

We are on the news in this area for the massive snowfall we had last night. Up to 10 inches, which is pretty unusual down here. I am in a valley so we didn't get as much as that, and it's mostly melted this morning. Boo.

I wish we had snow, last year we had about one day and three nights of snow in the whole of the winter. I wanna move back to my home county, damn South East
i get snow maybe once a decade, you lot are lucky.
that's never 10 inches. brock, you even have needle like snow!
oooo check out the pics on the bbc site
eg:

"And in Armagh, Miruna Popescu captured the snow falling on the dark cathedral city."
Is that a Cathedral which worships the dark lord? A whole city of Devil worshippers? where is it, I want to avoid it.

they are predicting loads of snow here tomorrow as well :D
don't you hate it when you accidentally set your camera to black&white mode?
It tried, pathetically, to snow this morning in Manchester, but it's given up now and the frost on the cars melted overnight.
there's some pretty good snow in london but it's mostly turning into brown pavement mush. regretting the wearing of converse boots, they're not very snow proof.

It's still snowing here but very very slightly. This morning in Chester was what I would call "light snow" but the BBC seemed to think it was "heavy snow". Roads seemed fine. Was sort of white on the way to work, now it's nearly gone.
Damn.
:(
Think I might move to Canada, get some proper seasons.

I never thought I'd say this, but I will be glad when Winter rolls around : it has been SOOOOOO hot in Johannesburg, you can't do anything. Especially at night when it's too hot to sleep and you toss and turn for ages before falling asleep. Gr. It's been 35 degrees during the day and half that at night.
'tiz grey and raining in Mancunium. Situation normal in fact.
What's the weather like where you are?
It's rather chilly here in Cheshire.
Also chilly in Manchester, but then we're only up't road from you. There's a hat of cloud over but the horizon is clear. It made a half-hearted attempt to rain while I was walking to t'bus stop.

RAIN in Johannesburg, thank God! It's been sooo dry. Received first rains in MONTHS this morning. The garden is just about jumping up and down for joy and so am I.
