Has anyone here ever been to see a medium? I went once. It was a strange experience. This medium was supposedly in contact with people who had passed over, and I was hoping (although remaining sceptical) that there might be some sort of undeniable message from my Dad. There was nothing from my Dad, but a description of a personality that sounded very much like my uncle, who passed away in 2001. Then the medium said something very strange. He said, "There's a young man on this side wanting to say hello to you. He died because of a bicycle."

That really shook me because my second cousin died as a result of a bicycle accident.

What do you think about this, have you ever had any similar experiences?

It's all horseshit, redirection and led questions.

Dont' be stupid - don't see coincidences and lucky guesses as some spiritual significance. It isn't.

I've never been to one, but I don't mind watching Char or Derek Ogilvie shows on tv and I also sometimes read my horoscope for the week.
Do I believe any of it? Not really. There is so much they can say that will sound familiar to every person and then they build on your reactions and responses.
I leave the posibillity open that there is really more to it, but I wouldn't pay money for any of it and I certainly wouldn't base any life choices on them, so what would be the point of going to one.
I'd say great for entertainment, but the more vulnerable you are because of a loss you've had, the further you should stay away from them.

Yeah Miki, good points. I used to watch John Edward. If it's a con (and it probably is I agree) then he is a very cruel person, I have seen people sobbing when they hear something familiar. What a crummy way to make money if it is fake. I hope Karma takes care of him in that case.

So do you think that's it then, when we die that's the end of it?

Yup. Hope so.

Did you hear about the short fortune-teller who escaped from prison?

She was a small medium at large.

A mate went to a psychic fair a couple of weeks ago. At a reading this psychic said -
"Oh your grandfather, he had a lot of hair didn't he?"
"No"
"Oh he was a joker then wasn't he? He's wearing an afro wig! *chortle*"

To another person after "contacting" one of their recently deceased friends -
"I'm seeing a can of Stella in his hand. He liked a drink didn't he?"
"No. He never drank"
"Oh no. My mistake. It's his friend's Stella"

So I think that proves it's all true.

I have to respect:

a) the desperate bluffing.

but mostly

b) the specific nature of the can of beer in the hand. One-can would be proud!
