Got a cool link from my Russian colleague: inoyan.livejournal.com/3879... (don't worry, it's not a scam website ;-) )

The grid is continually scanned and where ever you have clicked on a box it will make a noise. Try clicking boxes on and off to make music.

If you have one of those iPhones there are several apps that do this (Beatwave and SoundSketch jump to mind), and even a DS game (although the name escapes me) from around 2008.

I believe Cal linked to an early Flash version on his blog - buggered if I can search that with any success though.

Not seen one in Russian before though, at least =]
