Uncle Moc, 10:07, 26th September 2002:
That really depends upon what you mean by "use".
Absolutely nothing wrong with Mary Jane.
Anything else, well, I guess it's okay as long as it's in moderation. Note that moderation may mean "not at all" for really harsh stuff. I mean, in my opinion, using PCP in moderation generally involves not taking the damn stuff. But hey, I'm not going to condemn anyone for taking anything they want.
Something tells me I'm going to be disagreed with on this one.

Uncle Moc, 11:29, 26th September 2002:
Yeah, I mean, in theory they're bad, in that they can cause you harm, but so can lots of things.. I mean, sharp knives used in moderation are probably more dangerous than alcohol used in moderation.. if you have a glass of wine each day, it's probably less likely to cause injury than if you cut up an onion each day. Same applies for other drugs. Obviously, smokin' crack is a bit more dangerous than making a cup of tea. It all depends on the risks you're prepared to take.
Okay, so there is a bit of a problem when you get people who harm other people due to their taking drugs. Like if you steal off your sick ailing grandmother to feed a heroin addiction. Sure. But I don't think that means you can rule out all illegal drugs, cause quite a lot of them aren't addictive in the same way, and the only person you really run a risk of damaging is yourself.
Even stuff like Acid and E-pills, you're only really going to damage yourself if you abuse these, and they're still generally a bit safer than smokin' 20 B&H a day...
I'm sure there'll be plenty of FACTS to prove me wrong.

good good mr cal. actually I don think I have had a drink since I came home from uni in May, and you know I could quite happily never drink again. and I dont smoke either.
Uncle Moc: "Even stuff like Acid and E-pills, you're only really going to damage yourself if you abuse these"
True True, but what if...you colapse and they have to call an ambulance, which could have gone to a more "deserving" call, and then in hospital you take up a bed, and nurses and doctors time that should be spent on someone else. :)
(note the "you" in my statement is a hypothetical peorson, I wasnt suggesting you would take them!)
Posted by
Uncle Moc, 12:11, 26th September 2002:
I guess, but there aren't a great amount of cases of people collapsing due to taking Acid or E-pills. There are some, that's true. But for that reason you could claim that people who do other dangerous stuff, like juggle knives, shouldn't be allowed to in case they injure themselves and take up ambulance and hospital time.
Okay, I think almost everyone here would agree that knife jugglers are pretty stupid, but I wouldn't want to say "You are not allowed to juggle knives", or worse still make knives illegal.
Posted by
chandler, 12:22, 26th September 2002:
:) If knives were illigal we would have to eat like americans with just a fork. mind you those nasty prongs (tines?) could cause a problem maybe forks should be corked like in dirty rotten scoundrels.
Actually you are right there is something to be said for allowing tablets etc in clubs. I know that in holland you can have your e's tested for purity, without being arrested. it is acively encourgaed. Much better to be open about it, probably safer than in Britain when you dont know exactly what you are taking.
And if a knife juggler accidentally drops a knife and cuts of your legs off dont come running to me :) boom boom

I dont take any drugs. I used to smoke pot when I was younger but i don't even do that now. I don't drink, but I do smoke a packet of fags a day.
I used to live in a pub with my boyfriend who worked there, and it opens your eyes to a very different way of living. These people would snort coke and drop trips and eat pills like it was all a big joke. It would turn these poeple into freaks. They would fight and collapse and sell to the youngsters that would come in to the pub. Theres fuck all you can do about it. you can try and stop these people, but they are so thick that they just don't recognise that drugs are destroying them and the people around them. The police know its all going on, but they are in on it all too! I live in a scummy area anyway, as you can tell, but i think drugs are everywhere. People are always going to get involved with them. I think its a culture thing.
My friend who went to uni had a nervous brakedown coz she smoke too much puff. I mean she smoked way too much gear. She got into debt and lost her place on the course.
In my opinion drugs are crap. And they ruin your life.

( either going in sane or because they were caught selling). Its very sad, coz many of them have kids and are genuinely nice people, when they are not out of their heads.
I hate living around these people. But its happening in most cities, i reckon.

Grrr I hate Pikeys (i was at Uni in Middlesbrough last year, the place is full of little oiks who skive school and hang around taking drugs, wearing adidas tracksuits and generally pissing everybody off.) and most of them are under 12
I drink rarely and when I do it is a beer or a nice cranberry w/ vodka or southern comfort.
I don't smoke. Every one in my family smokes and I just hate it. I am also seeing someone who smokes, but they have enough respect not to smoke around me. They even talked about quitting, which impressed me a lot.
I only did wacky weed once and it made me sick, so I never touched the stuff after that. My sisters were into it, but never me.

Have tried other stuff, but I wouldn't like to make a habit out of it..
I'd like to think I'm completely in control, though.. which is why I reckon anything in moderation is okay.. obviously if you're going to take loads and loads of any drug, that's going to mess you up..

sure, thats the way it should be, but you can't tar everyone with the same brush. If you wanna smoke a little weed and fall asleep in front of the TV why should you be grouped in with the crackhead robbers who kill people for their mobile phones, ok, you are both financing the dealers supplying the stuff but thats where it ends, you both walk sperate paths.

You can't go around feeling insecure cause someone went and killed some kids. It could happen anywhere. That doesn't mean you should fret about it. If you go around expecting people to kill kids all the time, you'll go crazy and then end up killing kids yourself.

I never said that. I said I FEEL SAFE IN MY VILLAGE. No statistics can stop ME from feeling safe. I feel safe. If people feel the need to tell me how unsafe I am it can presumably only be to make themselves feel better about the dangerous places they live. Out of some sort of envy I guess.

Smoking weed is wondeful. Some people have to addictive a personality though. I smoked all the way through uni (sometimes instead of actually) and managed a good degree from a top institution.
Now I'm working I smoke only every few months and then not in the binge quantities I used to partake of. The thing is it doesnt affect you that much. Sure you cant drive afterwards, programme a video or remember why your in the kitchen but it does not have the same effects as chowing down on a nice big pipe full of crack.
Common sense and moderation.

Ho ho!
Yeah, one's a comedy and the other one's a tragedy.. but on the other hand, Much ado about nothing does include "Don John the Bastard".
Also did you know "nothing" in the title of Much Ado about is actually a shakepeare cheeky pun about .. um, the female parts?
Oh, that Shakespeare, he crack me up!

I did not mean like that, I just have the quote mixed up, and romeo and juliet is very funny, two people killing them selves so they can live forever in Hell for committing suicide away from each other, what a honey moon
