Title: Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Rating: 5/5

Ok, there is one piece of advice i give before you go see this movie - turn your brain off and take a spare pair of pants.

A must see film if you have seen any recent View Askew films. This spins off from Chasing Amy (you know, the one with Ben Affleck as the comic book artist, Renee Zellweger as the lesbian he falls in love with and Jason Lee as his comic book drawing buddy!) With the comic book guys haveing done one called Bluntman and Chronic, based on Jay and Bob, they sell to a movie corperation who make the film. Internet kids rip the film and book appart, so Jay n' Bob go to get it stopped.

Groovy movie, even has a chimp called... i'll leave that out and they work for the CLIT. funny all the way, I loved it - but like the movie, I am also stupid :)

Apparantly you're supposed to see Mall Rats or something first? J+SB were hilarious in Dogma... can't wait to see this film. :D

Bought Mallrats last week, fantastic!

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back is the fith and final film from Kevin Smith (who plays Silent Bob, as well as writing and directing all the films). In the first four films they are just side characters, but now boosted to leading men.

The films (in order) are:

Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma and then Jay n Silent Bob. I haven't seen Clerks but the rest rock!

where as i have ONLY seen clerks, which was pretty good

I got confused with clerks. it was VERY strange... I felt sorry for the lead guys girlfriend and I loved Silent Bobs dancing...

Longest gap between replies - nearly a year?

Oh an Jay and Silent Bob rock.
The only problem with it was that Bob spoke twice, and he normally only speaks once.

And no-one has mentioned that it had Luke and Leia were in it.

DOGMA rocks...

LONG LIVE JAY AND SILENT BOB

Jeez, you can't appreciate the others unless you have seen Clerks, and then all the others in sequence. And then you realise just how much J and SB strike back SUCKS ASS. It's an awful awful film. I just count my self lucky that I borrowed it from someone rather than paying to see it. And I still can't get those hours of my life back.

It S U C K E D

Get your head out of your arse mate! It was a fun film! I normally don't really care for the Kevin Smith stuff, it's all a bit wanky and "oh look at me" really.

Jay is funny though, despite the fact that he's really like that in real life. (BTW: Did they ever find him? He was missing for over a year after being told off for heroin possession last I heard)

Dogma was ok, as it didn't take itself too seriously. Chasing Amy made me want to hit people. Grrr oh how I hate that film.

Clerks Rocked, Chasing Amy Rocked, Mall Rats was good, Dogma was Funny, J&SB SB was a pile of crap, if you thought it was a fun film then look up the meaning of "fun" cos that aint it.

It was just fart gags and bad innuendo, nothing like the other films, which are actually well written and very funny. Strike Back was just purile and childish.

but then I guess you liked American Pie 2 as well. No accounting for lack of taste.

:D

i've seen all but j&sb now. i think i'll have to get it on dvd

I hate the idea that you somehow lack intelligence etc if you don't like Kevin Smith's stuff. I have varied taste but just because it doesn't match yours, it doesn't make it bad.

And who doesn't like a bit of childish, puerile fun now and again :)

(good thing I didn't mention the fact that I'm not keen on Spaced either)

CAAAAAAAAL, chandler's trying to start fights again, tell him!
Posted by Sul, 14:25, 14th January 2003:

I like all the KS stuff(especially Joey Lauren Adams! phew!) but like cal havent got round to watching J&SB SB. For those who dont know: the story of Jay and Bob actually has a comic book to fill in the gaps between mallrats, chasing amy and dogma.

"i've seen all but j&sb now. i think i'll have to get it on dvd"

No Cal dont its SHIT.

"I hate the idea that you somehow lack intelligence etc if you don't like Kevin Smith's stuff"

But it IS Kevin Smith stuff, and it still SUCKS. Disappointing.
