"Google Whack" is my new favourite game. It's pretty easy to understand, but hard to do well:

1 choose two words in the english language
2 type them in to google (together)
3 if you get more than one match, go back to step one
4 search for each word individually, and note the number of hits
5 multiply the two numbers to get your score (low is better)

my best is "disembowel gorgonzola"
disembowel has 8160 matches and gorgonzola has 77,500, so my score is 8160 x 77,500 = 632,400,000

can you get lower? remember, when put into google together, they must match once (and only once).

VERY good low ones Mr Tin. And zxenor, have you come from b3ta.com by any chance?
Posted by mikhail, 09:01, 30th January 2002:

I thought the idea was to score high. The original idea was to try to find two 'common' words that would return only one hit. The scoring came in to calculate how common your words were. A word with more hits is more common, and will give a higher overall score. It's fairly easy to find two obscure words and score low isn't it?

Am I wrong?
Posted by cal, 09:32, 30th January 2002:

but it think it's pretty hard to find two very obscure words AND find them both on the SAME page
Posted by zxenor, 14:27, 30th January 2002:

both are equally pretty hard to accomplish...and no cal, i didn't come here from b3ta, but i do know of it...

The reference to ocelots is very b3ta/rathergood ish

zxenor and I happen to know eachother, and I'd mentioned ocelots, being a fan of b3ta. I don't think misspellings count, if they still have to be in the english language.

I found one after only about 15 tries.

phlegmatic octagons
