Thought this'd be appropriate for us poor singles on Valentines day... what's the one tune that you secretly love to listen to when you're wallowing in depression, and what's the one thing that can always lift you out of your misery?
Depression: Bif Naked - Lucky
Uplifting: Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (yeah, most people think of this as a prelude to wrist-slitting, but I find it refreshing)

Depressing: Ben Folds Five - Cigarette
good choice - VERY depressing
Even though Ben Folds can make some of the peppy-est, happiest music ever, he can also write some of the most depressing stuff. His first solo album (not the highly rare "Fear of Pop" techno album) "Rockin' the Suburbs" can just be a total downer sometimes to listen to the whole thing.

msmissy, 04:36, 25th March 2003:
No one does depressing like Ben Folds. Brick. So depressing I used to have to turn it off whenever it would come on the radio.
Uplifting: So many, actually. I know you are all going to hate this -- but Wake Up Boo, by the Boo Radleys was really, really happy song. I think it was way overplayed in Britain, but I didn't live there then... so I still like it.

Also, the Cure, Close to Me -- a good classic, dance on the bed drunk song.

Kill maybe a bit strong, but i really do want to give her a right good kick up the ass! And perhaps a wee slap round the head. Slap mind, not punch.
Ok, not kill, just a solid thwack with a teaspoon to the bonce. Or a toffee hammer to the kneecaps.

Cool. You do that, and I'll wait under the bridge and whack her with a cricket bat on her way down. It could be a game. Sarpong needs to be given a similar treatment too.
