These are the quotes currently in play:
MK-6: "When Hell is full, the dead will roam the earth."
MK-2b: "Withdrawing in disgust is not the same thing as apathy."
MK-10: "We ain't one-at-a-timin' here. We're mass communicatin'!"
MK-11: "Tell him I'm coming! Tell him I'm fucking coming!"
cal-21: "please take your seats. where should we take them?"
cal-22: "what are you doing tonight? rollerblading with keanu reeves"
zx-1: "They caused the worst riot in Texas since Oswald got shot..."
zx-2: "Wait...what's your name? Julietta. Julietta... *kiss*"
zx-4: "Nothing? Nothing tra-la-la?"
zx-6: "I can't feel my legs...I can't feel my legs!"
zx-7: "The market's gonna crash, Max!"
once you get one right, you can suggest another, but not until then. so get guessing!

Hudsucker Proxy? maybe?

both of you are wrong. i'll have to give it away since it's pretty damn obscure. it's from a movie called "Summer School". the teacher is called Mr Schoop. See it - it rocks.

Following Cal's example, I think I'll reveal MK-2b, pretty unknown in most circles: it's "Slacker", directed by Richard Linklater ("Dazed and Confused", "Waking Life"). Anyone that likes this movie can call themselves my friend.

la, 00:48, 13th March 2002:
oooh - Waking Life looks very cool.
Haven't seen it yet, but very keen to!

r1:
"i made a funny"
r2:
"or, or, or... being electrocuted."

Posted by
luke, 12:41, 13th March 2002:
r1 - I think it's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the first movie.
r2 = "So I Married An Axe Murderer"
MK-12:
"Brothers don't shake hands! Brothers gotta hug!"
Posted by
zxenor, 21:40, 13th March 2002:
mk-12: tommy boy, easy :-)
r1: isn't that the second movie? i can't remember...
"He carries the Charles Atlas seal of approval"

With withdrawals, I think these are the current survivors:
MK-6: "When Hell is full, the dead will roam the earth."
MK-10: "We ain't one-at-a-timin' here. We're mass communicatin'!"
MK-11: "Tell him I'm coming! Tell him I'm fucking coming!"
cal-22: "what are you doing tonight? rollerblading with keanu reeves"
zx-1: "They caused the worst riot in Texas since Oswald got shot..."

zx-4 - very obscure, but I think I figured it out- Labyrinth?
MK-10 - O Brother Where Art Thou (just watched it the other day.. heheh)
here's one from me: "I merely chewed in self-defense."
Posted by
zxenor, 06:06, 15th March 2002:
woohoo! yup, that's labyrinth, and by far, my favorite quote from it
"I merely chewed in self-defense."
- Sean Connery, "Dragonheart"
MK-14:
"Shop smart, shop S-Mart!"

I'll get round to the others when I can be arsed to read anything but the last post

Assuming that at least one of mine is right, try these:
CH-1:
"Daddy, he stole my boot"
CH-2:
"Everyone wants money, that's why they call it 'money'"
(warren will know these. And agree with me that the second one is the worst line of a film ever)
CH-2:
The Heist
MK-15:
[picture of circle on paper]
"You know, for kids!"
Posted by
chandler, 21:15, 18th March 2002:
Yes CH-2 was the Heist. and god what a sucky line. And to think Danny de vito would sink to that.
Admittedly, I've never seen The Heist, but the commercials have been playing fairly regularly, and I noticed that awful line. His "I'd hate to do anything as dramatic as counting to three, but ONE... TWO..." didn't seem to rank among his career highpoints either.
Posted by
chandler, 11:21, 19th March 2002:
No. and there was also a line from someone else which was "He is so cool that when he goes to bed, sheep count him" Now I'm sorry but that makes no sense either. Grrrr.
On the one hand he made "Man on the Moon", which I liked, but then he did "Screwed", which even for a modest Norm Macdonald fan such as myself was a pretty terrible movie. Maybe "Death to Smoochie" will be the tie-breaker in his favor.

MATH! There is this guy and he lives in this apartment filled with computer parts etc. He is basically trying to find a pattern in the stock market. I guess you have to see it to really understand what I am talking about. Unless someone else can explain it better.

Yeah, and Arronofsky's doing Batman Year One next... can hardly wait :)
Oh, and would people stop saying that Heist sucks? I thought it was great... it's certainly Mamet's best rerunning of the con-flick to date, has that superb robbery towards the end, and I rather liked the dialogue: "yeah, and if he'd had another bible in front of his head, it'd have saved his life."
This week is going to movie mania for me. My friends and I have made plans to see:
Queen of the Damned
Blade 2
Ice Age
Then we are going to rent:
The Heist
Mulland Drive (sp)
Dracuala 2000

And as for what I wrote on your car roof: "Matt smokes........" (I will leave you to fill in the blank!!!!)
