Title: The Man Who
Artist: Travis
Rating: 4/5

A very good album overall, with such faves as Driftwood and The Last Laugh of the Laughter. I think that this disc really defines Travis as a band, as well. The mostly mellow drumming and bass complement the well-ranged (?) voice of their lead singer. This is totally an album for web designing to, because it just puts me in the mood. Nothing else really needs to be said, except that I only gave them 4/5 because I try to reserve my fives for really, really amazing stuff.

i'm quite a travis fan (bought driftwood on single yeeeeeears ago) and i know bex loves "last laugh...". a nice background album, though not particularly groundbreaking.

No, it's not groundbreaking, but it has that trademarked Brit poprock sound that I enjoy so much. The Invisible Band is also a good CD, perhaps I'll review it shortly.

you should move to england. we have lots of music you'd like. have you heard turn breaks or the electric soft parade? or gomez?

sal is usually the expert on up and coming uk acts...

Hmm, no, I've never heard of any of those bands. Most of anything I hear about over here is usually mainstream UK by the time I hear it. I just recently found out about Muse!

hahaha. muse (both albums) have been around for ages. i was really into "origin of symmetry" when it came out. haven't listened to them for a while actually. must bring the album to work

big rumours going round that Gomez have been dropped by their label - any truth to that?

Travis must be seen live if any of you ever get the chance. Good feeling their first album is by far the best.

Oooh, The Turin Brakes are good, don't forget Starsailor and Coldplay. Yes, I have a weedy indie side too. Muse, however, are distincly average, in my opinion.

I got Love is Here by Starsailor at Best Buy a while ago for $6, but then lost it when my car was broken into. I think I shall have to purchase it again, because I really liked it. Parachutes also got stolen, so I'll need to get that as well.
