This is a read-only copy. The forum ran on iamcal.com from 2000 until its database was lost in 2016, and this topic was rebuilt from copies saved by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Some replies may be missing.

Tom wants people to do his survey.

All of my fonts are now available in an auto-installing collection. Thanks to b3ta meber and all round cool guy Tomsk, for using my CubicFive font in his DIY weather app.

Sidetrack has a new design.

Possibly cool perl module of the week: DBI::FullTextSearch.

Some smart person on b3ta put together a school photo. It's me! and Denise! and Rob!

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse
But there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself
Where is my mind?

What pixies song are you? And no, don't tell me about all the "Which X am I?" sites. I don't care. [edit: new url]

Sidetrack is cool, but has some serious design flaws. "New window" to open links in a new window is far too vague, plus it breaks two usability rules in a single shot. Opening new windows is bad, and non-standard use of GUI widgets is also bad.

The other big mistake the site has is the fact that it doesn't have a search box on the front page, or even a link to a search page. With all that archived content, you'd be hard-pressed to find a specific entry unless you knew when it was posted.

"Where is my mind?" is a great song. Always think of buildings blowing up when I see it. (nb: Fight Club reference, I'm not insane)
