5) Half Life rocked my world, it was the first FPS game I'd played that actually had a good story line. Couple that with fantastic graphics and a excellent difficulty curve and you get Half Life. Still, IMHO, the best one-player FPS.
4) On the good old Amiga 500+, Dune II was genre defining. Build your tanks, roll them in, kill everything (as long as you chose Harkonnen). 'Nuff said.
3) Perhaps part of the reason I put Bloody Roar II (for the PSX) in my list is because I am 2001 British Champion at it =] However it's a top fighting game which makes Tekken look simplistic. A proper fighters game where winning actually took skill rather than random button mashing (60+ combo's can be done by entering each move in individually) and blocking was much more than holding 'Away'. Top, top game.
2) For top multi player fun, I have to cop out and say Counter Strike. It's simple, amazingly simple, you just do the same thing over and over again, but God, is it fun.
1) Very unoriginally, Final Fantasy VII is still my favourite game of all time. It was almost perfect in every way, and had so many hidden bits and sub games that it lasts forever. FF8 had better graphics and nine was
nearly as good, but FF7 still remains, for me and many other people, the best game ever created.

I'm not putting this into the computer game category for some reason (probably coz it means I can list 6)
Bonus Game) Barcode Battler. Although this didnt really take off, me and my mates loved it. There was no barcode left in my house. I had them all. I completed it time and time again. Played my mates over and over again. It rocked!
5) TMNT the coin op. I loved this game so much I got run over when crossing a road to the arcade to play it. I beleive I was in Shearness at the time.
4) Doom. Never mind CS and Quake. This is the daddy of FPSs and will always be the ultimate multiplayer game for me.
3) Dave Mirra's freestyle BMX on the PSX. This game was full of bugs but had a fucking quality soundtrack that made up for it. Bollocks to Tony Hawks, this game owned!
2) Pokemon. Never before have I been so infatuated by a game. I bought a gameboy ready for the UK release of it, I bought a N64 for pokemon stadium. I made friends buy gameboys so we could play against eachother. I have a Pikachu keyring on my keys. I wish Pokemon were real, then I could get rid of these hamsters that I trained to fight each other and keep in tiny little red and white balls.
1) Scramble on the Spectrum. Noone else I know remembers this game. It was a platform game and totally rocked. You were a little robot who had to navigate around by jumping and avoiding dripping slime. The quest of it I do not remember all I know is that it was quality!
ps. I was going to put Sam Fox's strip poker on the spectrum in there but decided that I didnt like it THAT much.

ghost pigeon is my favourite game... and when we've actually made it, it will be everyone's favourite game..
i get to create a game concept plus animations and trailers and stills.. basically everything apart from actually making the game (but only because it would take too long), for my degree..well part of it. i have such a fun degree.
Ghost Pigeon?, do tell, what is the aim of the game?

Is the one where you walked about getting clues trying to solve a murder?
With loads of wierd little sub games?

In no particular order
Summoner-changed the generation for rts(best one so far)
Black and White(2)-soon to be out, but the first one created a new way of gaming
Final Fantasy-the new ones anyways.. graphics phenomenal (old ones suck, but story is good)
Age of Empire(kings,conquerors,Mythology)-the best stragety based games out there
Diablo II-although Im sick of it, a rather enjoyable game
There are billions of others...but who the hell plays doom anymore? common!! sure old school stuff is fun but we are the future! don't regress! progress!! buy new games!! :P

3. Yahoo Pool - web based game. I really like this one a lot because it is really good for a web based game.

Doom
Quake 2 (I joined my first clan!)
Zelda
Final Fantasy 7
4) Doom. Never mind CS and Quake. This is the daddy of FPSs and will always be the ultimate multiplayer game for me.
Sul, surely Castle Wolfenstein (original) should get a mention if your talking about the daddies of first person shoot em' ups...

Then again I didn't think the first doom was multiplayer I thought it was the second one, or is that just because I only had doom on the SNES?
5) Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 - Essentially both the same game with some added content. Stupidly addictive game that allows you complete free rule of your own theme park. Design the rollercoasters from square one and ensure your handymen mop up the sick promptly. Genius.
4) Civilisation Call To Power - A spin of fromt he Civ series and IMO better due to it's added length and much larger tech/unit tree. Lost more hours to this game than any other.
3)Freelancer - It's Elite but all fancy looking! How good is that? Be a police guy, smuggler, hacker, trader or my personal choice PIRATE! No ninja's in sight though cause the game is only for tough folks. Smuggle drugs into manhattan and sell light arms to criminal factions before blowing them up!
2) Zelda Super Nintendo and N64 - Hours and hours of happiness. Top notch computer games from a weird Japanese bloke.
1) Medieval Total War - I'm the Emporer of the Byzantines! Tremble before me! Control thousands of soldiers split into units on epic scale 3D battlefields. Generals honour, terrain, weather, troop morale and even the birds in the trees all affect the battle outcome. Send in religous figures to cause unrest in countries and incite revolt with emmisarries while assassins take out important leaders. Control the seas with an extensive trading navy and net thousands of florins by raiding rich neighbours. It's like risk but you actually get to controlallthe action. Brilliant.

Scarey award should go to Silent Hill on the Playstation...
I thought Silent Hill 2 was crap.
I used to get travel sickness playing Wolf 3D.
Fave game at the moment is SSX Tricky.
Back in the swinging sixties, Michael Caine is holding a big showbiz party in his
swanky new house. Everyone who's anyone is there - top stars from the worlds of
movies,music, fashion and art.
There's the best wines that money can buy, oysters, champagne, Lennon and McCartney are
helping themselves at the bar, Jim Morrison and his band are sitting on the couch
singing "Light My Fire" and over in the corner, George Peppard's getting very pally
with Sophia Loren.
All's going really well until Jim Morrison decides he's bored out of his skull and
wants to go home for an early night curled up with a good book.
"Oi Jim," objects Michael Caine, "party's just got started. How's about I get one of
the ladies to take you into the spare bedroom for a bit of the ol' how's yer father?"
"Fair play," nods Jim (well that's not his exact words, but you get the gist), "as long
as she does the rest of the band too."
"Not a problem, Jim," smiles Michael as he pulls a young dolly bird in close and
whispers some instruction in her ear.
Half an hour later, the young lass is just wiping her chin when in walks Ringo Starr.
"Alright luv?" he drones, "don't suppose you fancy extending that service to me, do
you?"
The young lass thinks about this for a second, then says "What the hell!" and proceeds
to unzip Ringo's fly and get to work.
Ringo's having a grand time, until, mere moments before the end, the door flies open
and Michael Caine bursts in. He grabs the woman by her hair and slaps her hard across
the face!
"Wh-what was that for?" she whimpers.
"I told you," Caine snarls
"You're only supposed to blow the bloody Doors off ..."
Why does Ron Atkinson prefer "Riders On The Storm" to "Light My Fire"?
Because it's Early Doors.
My new favourite game = Baldurs Gate 2 (although i am pants at it)
I haven't had a game on my computer since I had a commodore 64, (apart from solitaire and c64 emulators!) so mine are all console games, but off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Super mario kart - I can't wait to get this for my gameboy advance, but I'vr had this for 10 years and I still get the snes out to play it!
Kingdom hearts - the evilness of disney characters is overcome by how much I'm enjoying this and how addicted I am to this at the moment. It's too embarassing to tell you how many hours I've racked up on it!
Zelda - on the gameboy and Snes
Ape escape - I'm on the first PS one at the moment, I've finished it but keep going back to collect more monkey coins and get 100% - I can't wait to get ape escape 2 for the ps2, but mr kitten says I have to wait until I finish kingdom hearts! :(
I can't decide a final one - it might be tetris, street fighter / killer instinct (because I can beat everyone up with the women!), mario or any one of hundreds of c64 games!

cal, 10:55, 25th June 2003:
my brother is a kingdom hearts fan. looks too fluffy for my liking
The multiplay game of Ravenshield is also worthy of a mention cause it's fantastic. Like counter strike et al but with some really nice touches and it looks fantastic. If you have a PC and like first player shootiy type games give it a go.
I can ignore the fact that it's a bit sickly sweet with the disney characters and so on because it is very zelda, just the sort of thing I like. but I can see exactly why you wouldn't like it.
I am really not into computer games, although I have been reading up on EverQuest, or shall we say Ever Crack.
