What is good for relief of allergy type rashes?
It appears I'm a bit allergic to green algie type stuff and now I itch, though only my elbows.
Any ideas?

Thanks Nov, for the info, err I'm gonna give the doc a call in the morning if it isnt any better. Probably best if we get the professionals involved.

I concur, especially if this is your first time having that kind of reaction.
Posted by cal, 16:21, 30th September 2002:

you could just try antihistamine

Dock leaves are good for rashes. (Too be honest I can't remember if it is just for stinging nettle rashes or not......)

My friend rubs yoghurt into her when she has an itchy rash.

When I was younger I used to think that I was immune to stinging nettles. My friends used to make me walk through piles of the things! It turns out I was just really stupid.

Posted by Rosie, 10:22, 1st October 2002:

Ha Ha. Actually my dad had them and thats how I get them.

Not that I was shagging my dad or anything - i think its passed down through the family.
Posted by chris, 10:26, 1st October 2002:

Damn... its in your genes then...

i once got off with someone in a club ( when i was younger) who was like an albino. He had totally white hair and eyelashes and his skin was so pale it was kinda see through.
I was so pissed i couldn't even tell him to leave me alone. It was so weired. I remember waking up the next day and wondering if some one had put something in my drink.
He was real coz I saw him in Kingston high street soon after the incident.

I am sure he was a nice person, just very pale. Maybe he has something medical wrong with him.

From ages ago - Dock leaves are not 'good' for nettle stings, they are just cold, which helps numb the pain.
To get rid of nettle stings, tear the nettles up and squish them (in your hands, as long as you are looking at where you touch them they won't sting you - wierd that - anyone know why?) and use the wet pulp to rub on your stings. Hey presto - antidote.

Posted by plindoe, 13:06, 1st October 2002:

put aftershave/perfume on your coldsore, cheaper and just as effective as zervirax (again another plindoe spelling mistake i presume)
Posted by Rosie, 13:18, 1st October 2002:

I've got a bottle of CK one in my bag. I'm gonna go and try that now......
Fingers crossed....:-)

I've washed my face and put a thick layer of lip salve on my lip. Its not hurting so much now.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 15:29, 1st October 2002:

Take the pain rosie, its just weakness leaving your body.
Posted by chandler, 15:31, 1st October 2002:

Its all her insides leaving her body via her lip. that cant be good! :)
Posted by Rosie, 15:46, 1st October 2002:

My lip is really sore. :-(

No one take any medical advice from plindoe in the future.

I am probably going to be left with a scar.
Posted by chandler, 15:53, 1st October 2002:

lets face it, when talking to a guy he is unlikely to be looking at the scar on your lip. He probably wont even be looking at your face. :)
Sad but true.
Posted by cal, 16:01, 1st October 2002:

i'd look at her lip. because i'd want to check for scars
Posted by Rosie, 16:03, 1st October 2002:

I suppose lipstick will cover it up.

I know men only look at ( . )( . ) when they first meet a girl.

I don't know why- tits are only sacks of fat.
Posted by cal, 16:13, 1st October 2002:

i resent that implication (although usually true). i'd look at your hair first.

you need to post a profile photo so we all know what you look like
Posted by Rosie, 16:20, 1st October 2002:

OK - will do sometime this week, but please excuse the deformed lip.
Posted by cal, 16:27, 1st October 2002:

yay!
Posted by Rosie, 16:36, 1st October 2002:

WARNING: I have long bushy hair, hamster cheeks and my arms are too long for my body. ( i am not hidiously disabled or anything, they just look wrong.)

So no sarcastic comments please.

So plindoe's medical advice has given you a hare-lip, ahh sweet irony!
Posted by Grim..., 17:47, 1st October 2002:

Chandler, don't you mean 'In a while, Ape-Arms'?

Sarcastic comment no. 1...
Posted by cal, 17:50, 1st October 2002:

rosie said: "my arms are too long for my body"

how do you know it isn't your body that's too short for your arms?
Posted by ell, 04:01, 2nd October 2002:

Now now Cal, there's no need to mis-insult anyone by calling them a garden tool! That's just plain rude. ;)
Posted by MonkeyArmada, 08:54, 2nd October 2002:

What do you mean ell?
Posted by cal, 10:29, 2nd October 2002:

i don't know what you're talking about *whistle*
Posted by plindoe, 11:37, 2nd October 2002:

Posted by Arula, 18:01, 17th May 2003:

ok, I have a question I need to acquire the answer for. I think I may have a coldsore... but it never appears outside of my mouth. Always inside, it's whiteish, in lines, barely visable. It doesn't hurt, burn or itch. When it appears, it stays anywhere from a few days to a week. Is it ok to kiss when this is in my mouth?
Posted by Redmaiden, 18:10, 17th May 2003:

go see your doc?
Posted by Redmaiden, 18:35, 17th May 2003:

Rosie: yogurt is good for thrush (not that I'm implying that you need it lol)
Posted by phoenix, 23:04, 18th May 2003:

it is a known fact that saliva stops stingy nettles stinging. i live in a rural area, lots of fields and forests, i frequently go walking and i frequently get stung by the buggering bloody things, my daughter's forever spitting on herself poor child!
Posted by Redmaiden, 23:45, 18th May 2003:

saliva has natural healing properties hence why your mouth heals very quickly :)

Hello, I have a question to ask someone?
Posted by cal, 14:32, 7th July 2003:

go for it
Posted by ell, 22:51, 7th July 2003:

Red: Lies! Burnt tongue/mouth takes ages to heal. :(
Posted by chandler, 23:18, 7th July 2003:

how do you burn your mouth? i mean if you eat something hot your mouth is ok very quick. but how would you actually really burn your mouth? that would be stupid.

drinking petrol and smoking at the same time would do it i guess.
Posted by jeff, 05:41, 8th July 2003:

i havent slept all night.. i cant breathe, my throat kills almost as bad as when i had glandular fever... i've been trying so hard to take my mind off it that i've been watching rubbish telly and plucking out my leg hairs...
i'm so not good at being ill...

saliva has healing properties and is apparently a great solvent or something...

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh all i wanna do is sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
Posted by jeff, 05:41, 8th July 2003:

i'd happily smoke petrol right now... it'd numb the pain... the paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiinnnn
Posted by chandler, 09:24, 8th July 2003:
