Rosie, 11:09, 23rd October 2002:
I have a HUGH problem.
My fiancee has no job. I work all day and have even got an interview for part time work at sainsburys as a checkout girl, so that I can afford for us both to eat and have the electricity on.
I found e's on him on Sunday and this morning a wrap of cocaine. I think he is dealing drugs out of our flat.
Do I throw him out. He has promised that they are not for him, but for his brother. But I've beleived him the first time with the e's but then i discovered the coke and I am not so sure. He always has a stream of people around the flat when I am at work, and I know he has dealt before.
Should I dump him?
I've been going out with him for 4 yrs and We have been through a lot. But I don't want to be going out with a dealer. What would you do?

Sul, 11:15, 23rd October 2002:
oooh fuck! This is a real 'Dear Deidre' isnt it. Personally I'd try to suss out EXACTLY what was going on before making a rash decision. One wrap of cocaine hardly points to dealer, more personal use if you ask me. How many E's were there?
But go get the job at Sainsburys still. You may be talking to me if you have to phone up the IT desk one day :D

i'd probably dump him
Posted by
cal, 11:16, 23rd October 2002:
cause, you know, i don't go out with guys
Posted by
Grim..., 11:51, 23rd October 2002:
You don't seemed to have considered the fact that you are out working hard and the drugs could be for him - ie. He is spending your money on coke.
Bye then =/
P.S. I assume his name is Hugh?
Posted by
chandler, 11:55, 23rd October 2002:
Rosie Hue
Why doesn't he have a job?
yeah, why/how is he spending money on coke and disco bizkits if your skint?.
Maybe you should express your concern by selling all his stuff at a car boot sale. I am the last person you should listen to though.

Grim..., 12:16, 23rd October 2002:
If you are going to leave him, do it by getting him to fill in the
Evil Ex test - then when he says "Why?" say "Because you are one!"
Plus it will give you a handy insight into what he will do next.

jeff, 12:25, 23rd October 2002:
If you're not happy, get outta there!! I dont know you but i'm sure you deserve better...
I think that you need to leave.
Have you ever thought what could happen to you if he got caught. It doesn't matter that you weren't doing it, anyone that is there will be committed of the same crime.
It is not a good situation. You should not be the only one working either. Relationships should be 50/50. You both should be contributing.
I know that the decision is not an easy one. I only hope that you make the right choice for you.

Thanx everyone.
I hope he has taken his stuf and left by the time I get home tonight.
I love him so much - but iam being taken for a mug, i know it.
Girl power and all that shit....
:-)

Rosie, 13:24, 23rd October 2002:
PS: He left his job in a pub as he "couldn't handle it anymore". and apparently he can't stand to go outside. ( though obviously he can push him self to go to the off-license to get cider and go see his beloved drug dealing friends who ply him with freebees)
I quite like the car boot sale thing, but it involves getting up early, so i might just throw them out of the window onto the main road.
I am so upset. Really. Thanks for the help.

I have spoken to our flat mate and she has talked to my fiancee and apparently he told her that it was for his brother. And she believes him.
However, I don't.
oh god I am not looking forward to going home. He might still be there. What the fuck do I say?
Stick to your guns Rosie. He sounds like he is taking the piss. Why doesnt he get a job at McDonalds? Thats inside.

I just have to say (because it goes through my head every time I enter this thread - I'm gonna exorcise it...)
...if you son was at home,
Crying all alone on the bedroom floor,
'cause he's hungry, and the only way to feed him,
(is to) Sleep with a man for a little bit of money,
And his dadda's gone,
Where's that fucker at now?
I ain't smokin' crack now,
Tryin' to get a job now...
But for you this is just a good time, but for me, this is what I call life.
Ooh-ooh.
Phew. I hope that cured it. I HATE that song.

OH MY GOD -
Grim -I am not bullshitting you with this either - that song was what I used to play when me and him used to live in the pub. It was one of my favourites and I played it on the jukebox everything time I was feeling pissed off.
The grp has a girl and 2 blokes in it and the band is called something like - "Something"-city.
How strange.

Posted by
Sul, 17:54, 24th October 2002:
its tea-bitch actually :p and on the feed back they didnt mention it. They just said that they see me in more of a reactive role rather then proactive. I was under the impression that I was going to do nothing all day and then I hear that they were expecting me to be proactive! That's looking for work right? HAHAHAHA! Pretty glad really.

Just one note to Rosie -
A couple years ago, I broke up with the guy I had been seeing for 4 years - and it was really tough for the first couple months, but everything turned out for the best in the end. Now I am with someone really great.
I think that you are in your early 20s, right? You have so much life to live - way too young to be settled with one guy. Go out and live as just Rosie for awhile. You'll be surprised how much you like it.

The Iamcal Granny (age 29)

uh huh, being single most definately rocks... I cant believe i spent my first two years of university in a relationship.. as nice as it was a lot of the time, it still feels good to just be me.. it does your self confidence a world of good. Besides, rosie, you sound like a capable lady, so its not like you need him for anything anyway..
Posted by
Sul, 00:14, 26th October 2002:
For fucks sake! If all you ladies all want to be single what fucking chance have I got to please my Nan's hopes that I turn up with a bird to a family do once in a while. Telling your Nan that prostitutes charge far too much to attend parties wears thin eventually!
Posted by
jeff, 02:08, 27th October 2002:
if you go to a family do with a boyfriend then the family assumes you're gonna get married... in the whole two years of my last relationship i went to one such occasion... his nan gave me a kiss... it scared me. If he'd paid me then i wouldnt have minded. Maybe i should hire myself out for functions so i can pay for this stupid adsl... who wants to hire me??

Redmaiden, 12:38, 27th October 2002:
ooh it's a hard dilemma!
If this man is squandering your money (or his) on drugs and not the essentials first (food, heat) then personally that would make me question the relationship. You may love him, but what kind of person either deals - therefore endangering you or squanders it on drugs?
You've got 2 options -
1) kick him to the kerb
2) give him a second chance/benfit of the doubt but make him agree to your terms - no drugs!
