Poll:

  • Air - Moon Safari
  • Kinobe - Soundphiles
  • Zero 7 - Simple Things
  • Lemon Jelly - Lemonjelly.ky
  • Royksopp - Melody AM
  • Kruder & Dorfmeister - DJ Kicks
  • St. Germain - Tourist
  • Portishead - Dummy
  • Bonobo - Animal Magic
  • Avalanches - Since I Left You
So which is it?

Picture the scene; It's a morning in the middle of July, the sun is beating in through your window and you have just remembered it is Friday and you have the day off. Not only that, you realise you have no hangover from the night before whatsoever.

You feel happy, elated and downright joyous that the whole weekend is still ahead of you.

What CD do you put on from the above list, as you stare through your window thinking of the next 72 hours.

I would put on "Fly on the Wings of Love" by the Olsen Brothers, the winners of the 2000 Eurovision song contest.

Then I would go outside and kick kittens.

Best chillout material would have to be something by the Dead Kennedys...

Does that mean I'm not the only Eurovision geek here??

arsepuppy. Don't you think that song rocks?! At the time I remember thinking "damn, I'm glad they won" cos the rest of them were all sad dancy pop acts all virtually identical, and then these two old guys with guitars come on and rocked the world :)

Yeah, but I was a bit disappointed that 'Be Happy' didn't win. That was so awful.

Actually, there's not really any of those CDs I'd really like to listen to at very many points, I don't think.

shit I didn't see Zero 7 on the list and voted for Portishead. Anyways I used to love Portishead but then I overplayed them.
Cocteau Twins are sure the ultimate band in relaxation without being cheesy?

I'm considering getting Royksopp, can anybody rate them for me?

thanks angel mouse - i was going to suggest grace as well.

when i had a little dinner for my most loved one, i put on some chill out music - i'm fortunate enough to have a 7cd stacker, so i put it on random, with:

one of the ben harper live from mars cds
brad - interiors
george - polyserena
jeff buckley - grace
powderfinger - odyssey no. 5

what else was there? hmm... i'll have to go and check tonight.

i think it may have been:

tori amos - under the pink
dido - no angel

i can tell my little claim to fame story here too - i've driven around the drummer from saint germain in my car - and met the entire band!
