In my infinate wisdom, I decided that the ammount of washing up I have to do would be done quicker, not in the kitchen sink, but in the bath. My bathroom is now covered in washing up liquid bubbles from a slight overflow.

Sounds like flawless logic to me, clean your utensils in the same place you clean your genitals. are you sure your not a student sul?
Posted by Sul, 11:55, 16th January 2003:

I'm not cleaning them at the same time!

although...

I don't take two bottle to the shower! I take two bottles, a box of persil tablets and some fabric conditioner!

Marigolds on, pass the scrubbing brush :$

I like being stingy and saving money on washing up liquid by turning the bottle upside down when it is getting near the end! Waste not want not as they say! This is a good plan, but if you forget to fasten the top like I did one time you get lots of fairy liquid all over your kitchen. Doh!

and... tell them about the tomato sauce in the fridge incident sarah...
Posted by November Eclectica, 13:57, 16th January 2003:

My roommate had eggs in the fridge and they weren't placed in a good spot, so needless to say I had eggs all over my feet and floor at 3:00 in the morning when I opened it to get a drink out.
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:03, 16th January 2003:

Since Earthworm mentioned tomato sauce in the fridge, does everyone keep their Tom sauce in the fridge? I ask cause my g/f does this and i find it very bizare to say the least.
Posted by Rosie, 14:06, 16th January 2003:

I don't keep my tomato sauce in the fridge. I keep it by the bed.
Posted by Sul, 14:06, 16th January 2003:

Tom sauce should be kept in the fridge imho
Brown sauce should be left out however
Posted by Victor Menendez, 14:07, 16th January 2003:

Think you got those two the wrong way round pal.

P.S. HP not daddies.
Posted by bangabongo, 14:10, 16th January 2003:

Always keep your tomato sauce in the fridge...keeps it fresh!! I agree Victor - it has got to be HP not daddies!! Or Heinz if it is salad cream.
I put some tomato sauce in the fridge once and hadn't screwed the top on properly!! Never mind, eh? Made the fridge look nice and decorative!! Earthworm wasn't impressed...
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:38, 16th January 2003:

No sauce should be kept in the fridge, the fridge is for steaks and pickled things. Oh, and obviously salad cream and mayo. Sauce should be kept in a cupboard, cold and dry.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 14:42, 16th January 2003:

FOGHORN! you forgot stella! shame on you.
Posted by nibbler, 14:43, 16th January 2003:

It's a fine question.

I never used to keep tommy sauce in the fridge but my current flatmate does and I have to admit it adds a slightly additional quality (that i can't put words to) to a bacon sandwich when the tommy sauce is cold.

Also, while we are on the subject of a HP or Daddies brand, is their anyone out there disagrees that there is no baked bean other than Heinz. Heinz baked beans simply run riot over the competition.
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:47, 16th January 2003:

Victor, sorry i forgot about the lager...oh, and the Baileys.
Posted by Sul, 14:48, 16th January 2003:

No Chris, Tom sauce in, Brown sauce out. That's how it works.
Where do you stand on eggs and margerine. My friends Adam and Laura keep theirs out. I find this quite strange. I thought eggs had to be kept cold and margerine that spreads like water is icky.
Posted by Sul, 14:51, 16th January 2003:

Oh yeah, Nibbler, Heinz beans are the one and only.
I agree HP brown as well. Heinz Tom. Heinz Salad.
Oh and PG tips.

But then I do have a soft spot for Heinz. Very consumer friendly.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 14:53, 16th January 2003:

Margerine in, eggs not even in the house. devil eggs!
Posted by Sul, 15:08, 16th January 2003:

Cal, I think Chris2's account seems to have mixed up with Chandler's. Either that or he's turned weird. What's wrong with eggs?
Posted by cal, 17:16, 16th January 2003:

:D

tom sauce in fridge
marg in fridge
eggs out
brown sauce is horrible

heinz beans are BY FAR the best
Posted by earthworm, 18:35, 16th January 2003:

I keep Ninja's in the fridge... But not Pirates. Anyone any different?
Posted by earthworm, 18:37, 16th January 2003:

By the way...my thoughts on the old brand issue...

Heinz = beans, salad cream, mayonnaise
HP = tomato sauce
Local coop/tesco/asda brand = brown sauce
uncle bens = rice
Sarah Lee = chocolate gateaux!
Birds Eye = Chicken Dipper and WAFFLES(!!)

"Either that or he's turned weird"

I resent the implication! But yes I hate eggs.

I'm not weird, I'm "Special"
Posted by Sul, 20:59, 16th January 2003:

I never said that you were weird Chay. It just shocks me on that Chris's stance is against eggs. I figured he was a proper bloke not a "special" one. ;)
Posted by ell, 23:47, 16th January 2003:

Chris2 - of course he's not a student, you think one of us'd go anywhere near soap and water? LET ALONE do the washing up!!
Posted by Victor Menendez, 09:45, 17th January 2003:

Ell: :)
Chay: Eggs = bad
Sul: How does disliking eggs reduce my manliness? its not a philosophical thing, i just don't like the taste. for your info, i am also a confirmed salad dodger.
Posted by chandler, 09:58, 17th January 2003:

I dont eat salad either, despite my vegetarianism
Posted by November Eclectica, 13:52, 17th January 2003:

Chandler -

I don't eat eggs either, my roommate does. I don't like the taste.

Although I will eat devil eggs, but they are mixed with things to make them taste yummy and I only eat the yolk part of it, I give the other part to my friend to eat.
Posted by jeff, 14:30, 17th January 2003:

but mr strong ate a dozen eggs every day so he could pick up tractors n stuff... damn that roger hargreaves was a genius..
Posted by Redmaiden, 23:13, 17th January 2003:

I just went food shopping with the little money I have. I bought lots of Asda smartprice stuff (I feel so dirty just telling you that) but still bought heinz beans and ketchup and PG tips.

Youve got to have standards.

Costco is the only way to go... see the size of that box of crisps, for a fiver? :D

Or the "baby" bell on the left?
Posted by Sul, 22:33, 18th January 2003:

How the hell did a lowlife student like you get a costco card? You run the tuck shop?
