Title: 8 Mile
Rating: 5/5
Just saw this on Saturday in Newcastle. I cannot express how good this was. At the end, people in the audience actually applauded. The rap battles are superb and Eminem looks to be quite an actor. Don't know whether I would like to see him in 'normal' films but he really shone in this film.
A few out of character moments include em standing up for a gay guy. Xibit has a 2 minute claim to fame from this film. Shame he wasn't used to his full potential!
Anyway, a must for hip hop fans and people who think Em can do nothing but take drugs, be sued and swear a lot. (come on, we all do it)
Can I also take this opportunity to say that David Blunkett can stick his accusations up his arse. Gangsta rap is NOT to blame for the gun killings in this country. Thats like saying Line Dancing and Michael Jackson are to blame for all the old people who dance at weddings and think they can do the moon walk.

Hmm.
It was alright. I thought that it was slow as you like and Eminem beat up some stupidly big people...
And the ending was pants.
I thought it was great too! The rap battles at the end were great. The ending was cheesy but just as it should have been - why did you think it was pants Grim?
I loved the line that Eminemm said at the end 'Tell me something you don't know about me?!' after he had wiped the floor with the last opponent. A real feel good movie.
Like rocky with rap, and they still couldn't resist one of those american moments where he stands up on his own, beats the bad guys, and then goes back to the factory to finish his late shift, ahh. what a good guy!
How can he tell him something he doesn't know about him?

I just thought 'Is that it?'
I wanted to hear the song =[

The line was actually 'Tell these people something they don't know about me.', which may make more sense.

so "so solid crew" carrying around loaded handguns (3 times now?) doesn't influence the dumb yoof of today to think weapons are cool? it may not be a root cause, but it doesn't help. people like so solid crew should be locked up indefinately. and maybe burnt.

oh I would create liquid fire (oh maybe magma or something) and then I could drown them in fire. so that is like two punishments combined. Burning and Drowning.
They shouldn't be locked up or burnt for illegally carrying guns, jail-time will sort that out, they should be locked up and burnt for crimes to music, 21 seconds indeed.
