hehehe. great snow-penguin

snow here is very heavy. roads are awful. had to drive home at 15 mph. very icey and big snow drifts

i walked home much further than i had to so i could walk in the snow. i love snow- my real lifetime ambition is to be a ski bum.

i made a snowman too! my brother and me. we're such kids. it looked like a penguin too. not that it was meant to me. (NB my snowman is not cal either)

it took me 3 hours to get from Bedford to Sharnbrook.... i made them get me a bus in the end and they did - i really didn't expect them too, i was just cold and joking about.

I enjoyed the snow tonight but I aint looking forward to the journey to work tomorrow :\
Posted by chandler, 23:19, 30th January 2003:

I almost came off the road today cos the roads around me are all country lanes with no grit.

same journey tomorrow, but I may take the very long way around cos there is a mile long stretch on my normal route which was an absolute death trap today, snow and thick ice, I was sliding all over the place. And yet the road at either end of this stretch was competely clear of any ice or snow.

Maybe it will snow all night and then I won't have to go in to work.

That pic reminds me of the time I was defrosting my fridge and made a snowman with the ice. In the middle of the summer. I would put the picture of it up but I have no webspace :( Can anyone help?
Posted by Sul, 08:41, 31st January 2003:

Sul, hehe, I like the penguin, you have kinda sculpted it rather than the two boulders dropped on top of each other, cool.

All this snow is making me board horny, off to the Alps next month.

AP, I've sent you the link to your pic to do with as you please.
Posted by arsepuppy, 09:49, 31st January 2003:

This is the best snowman in the bloody world. It has an edible face and is called Dave. It is in a puddle because it needed a piss but couldn't walk to the toilet due to lack of legs. The messy sod.

Cheers bucko!

(BTW, the eyes are peas, the nose is a potato wedge and the arms are micro chips)

Has everyone in the country got snow apart from central Scotland? Christ, that makes a change.

Posted by chandler, 10:42, 31st January 2003:

There was quite alot of snow. Had a 2 hour blizzard and reached a couple of inches. That was made at 8:30 on a field behind my flat... before the pesky kids got to all the virgin snow.
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 11:01, 31st January 2003:

Cool. I really hope it snows tonight when i am in the pub, much more fun when you are under the influence.

Hurray, your snowman has now replaced MonkeyArmada's eye as the background on my phone!
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 11:32, 31st January 2003:

Technically its not really a snowMAN, so should it called a snowpenguin?

yes. snow in st albans is pretty deep... i was very close to having to spend the night at work in london... but after waiting on a train platform with anouncments to say 'all trains are suspended' for an hour or so... one did eventually turn up thank god!

i attempted to drive from the station to my house in st albans... but just ended up sliding the wrong way.

ended up walking home for about 11pm!

...so im home... drinking tea... ..and very pleased to be here :)

I tell you what, fridge ice is a bloody nightmare to make snowmen out of. Especially when it's hot out (as it was last March 22)

That's because it is! Sort of. I made the face bits out of loose bits in the fridge, hence the peas and chips.

The snow sucked, royally. I went into the back of someone at a junction on the way home from work on Thursday cause the road was so bad and untreated and my car just slided the minute I put on the brakes. My car's ABS was going mental but alas it did no good.

Goodbye savings :(
