I had a dream last night. Me and Cal entered an art competition. And we both won. So we got free tickets to fly to France. And we were on the plane getting ready to take off. And men came on the plane to check us for weapons. And I looked in my bag and saw my swiss army knife and then was worried that I would be arrested. and I looked some more and saw that my whole bag was filled with army knives. But they didnt search my bag so that was OK.

Then we got to France and to the beach. And the smarmy competition man told us that as part of our prize we HAD to spend the day with Mel and Sue
(whether we wanted to or not) and they were trying to entertain us but wernt funny at all, and we were really annoyed with them. So we started calling them Mel and Kim and this really annoyed Sue. And then we pushed them off a harbour into the sea.

And that was the end of that.

See what happens when you don't eat properly people!!!

And I can trace everything in that dream to events the day before:

Cal - Cos I'm always on here.
Art Competition - Cos I was drawing those spats and then thought about how I havent done any drawing of my own for a long time.
France - Cos I was listening to the news and they were talking about France being against the war.
Plane/Holiday - Cos Cal was talking about that trip to LA
Swiss Army Knife - Cos I cut my toenails with the sissors on my Army Knife before going to bed.
Mel and Sue - Cos I was designing a character at work yesterday and someone said it looked like Sue of Mel and sue
Mel and Kim - Cos I listened to "Respectable" on my jukebox thingy before I went to sleep.

I've never had a dream that had such easily identifiable origins before.

Chay -you have a jukebox in your bedroom? That is so cool...
Posted by chandler, 12:54, 25th February 2003:

uh no. my portable jukebox thingy. the mp3 player with the 20Gb hard disk. but yes a real jukebox would be pretty cool

i am slightly worried now that all of you dream about me :/
Posted by November Eclectica, 13:05, 25th February 2003:

At least you dream. I haven't had any dreams for awhile now.
Posted by chandler, 13:31, 25th February 2003:

i didnt used to ever remember my dreams. I started trying to write them down at uni, for a project. but I didnt have many. I think I sleep too deeply normally. Or I sleep weirdly after dreaming so that I have forgotten it by the time I wake up
Posted by chris, 13:33, 25th February 2003:

Everyone has dreams, it's all part of REM (insert cheap Michael Stipe joke)...

...you just don't always remember, and on average you have 40 a night.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 13:35, 25th February 2003:

Actually sometimes people do stop dreaming, better hope it doesn't last long because it leads to psychotic episodes.
Posted by cal, 13:35, 25th February 2003:

mine are all about rosie
Posted by chandler, 13:36, 25th February 2003:

Posted by Victor Menendez, 13:52, 25th February 2003:

I won't divulge what goes on in my dreams (when I have them). It's positively scary stuff - but then again, I am working my way through my X-Files DVDs again before I go to bed...

You'll all be glad to know they've not included any of you lot yet, though. :)

I've had a number of strange dreams recently:

1) Cal and I were about to get married. Just before the ceremony, he told me that he had recently cheated on me twice but we decided to go ahead and get married anyway. After the wedding we never saw each other again :(

2) I handed in an assignment to my lecturer but he told me it was crap and so decided to kill me :(

Anyone care to explain those...

Last night I dreamt that I had lots of tiny black ants in my hands.
I wasn't holding ants, they were actually in my flesh, and if I scratched my hands little ant body-parts fell out.

anyone care to explain that one?

Posted by November Eclectica, 14:59, 28th February 2003:

Aye .. at least I had a dream for a change. I think it has to do with the fact that I am going to Knetucky next month and we rented a cabin.

If you want to have a dream then eat lots of cheese just before you go to bed....that will do the trick.

yyyeah!! call poured this glucouse syrup into my eye, and the eye pupil is alike a big hole in my eye, so when he poured it in it went into my mind but my mind was a big clock and all the wheels got all sticky and cover in glucose syrup and mSG.

Posted by PowerPuffGirl, 13:10, 10th March 2003:

Chris I notice you said that the average amount of dreams you have in one night is 40, this can't be possible as the average REM cycle takes around 45 minutes and you only sleep for about 9 hours at a time so surely it is more like 12 dreams in a night?!!?!?!
Posted by Redmaiden, 18:09, 10th March 2003:

I dreamt about Saddam Hussein last night. I and several others were trapped on this island by him and we were all being totured. It took weeks to be rescued and I had to wear a burqua. It wasn't a nice dream :(
Posted by beargod, 18:37, 10th March 2003:

burqua is that some sort of water thing?
Posted by Redmaiden, 22:11, 10th March 2003:

it's a head dress some women in the Middle East are forced to wear, I think it has a few different names though
