Also if they are getting rid of French things why don't they pull down the Statue of Liberty?

uk.news.yahoo.com/030312/80/dva4m.html They are called french Fries cos they are 'Frenched(made thin) and fried' potatoes

"The fast food staple -- known simply as chips in Britain", Classic line from the french
Posted by Victor Menendez, 13:25, 13th March 2003:

Hows this for a non-racist view.

I don't like the French because they all wear beret's, stripey tops, ride bicycles, sell onions, smoke DuMaurier's and say Oh-eeh-oh-eeh-oh alot.

And, to quote 'The last of the Mohicans'

'Pah, the French. they'd rather eat and make love with their faces than fight!'
Posted by bored at work, 13:27, 13th March 2003:

You can't not like them for riding a bicycle or a brand of cigs they smoke!!!!

Have you never worn a beret?
Posted by plindoe, 13:31, 13th March 2003:

Yes you can!

Also because they are arrogant shite's who smell and hide in castles taking the piss out of peoples mums and dads!

Posted by bored at work, 13:50, 13th March 2003:

Dont get me wrong. Stella is by far the best beer on the market. But if somewhere where Kronenberg was on offer & Stella was'nt, would you take the soft drink alternative?!?
Posted by Victor Menendez, 13:50, 13th March 2003:

I can fault Kronenberg. its fucking awful.

Smeggel = Smeagol.

I fart in your general direction english bed-wetting types.
Posted by ilovebeerme, 13:51, 13th March 2003:

Best wine in the world. Nuff said.
Posted by ilovebeerme, 13:51, 13th March 2003:

I can fault most lagers as being fizzy water with a slight taste of stale donkey piss.
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 13:51, 13th March 2003:

Or is he more of a water drinker with a title that makes him sound hard?
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 13:54, 13th March 2003:

duvel sorts the men from the boys...
actually matching stella for hoegarrden pint for pint also does some sort of sorting...
Posted by ilovebeerme, 13:55, 13th March 2003:

I do. I love beer me. However, I only drink Stella, Kronenbourg et al if there is no beer, wine, gin or whisky.

Wine is as good as beer though. Had a couple of crackers recently. For a cheapo bottle the new Aussie Fire Engine Red is tasty good. Had a '96 chateau musar though and it was wayyy to young. Pissed me off that did.
Posted by bored at work, 13:56, 13th March 2003:

Duvell is nice, but Stella is easier to get your hands on without going to a poncy off license! You dont get duvell in your local spar do you - posh beer boy
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 13:57, 13th March 2003:

australian wines are marked up chronically by the time the uk beer swilling populace gets to it....
cheaper to fly there and carry a crate back under your arms! ;P
Posted by ilovebeerme, 13:58, 13th March 2003:

Favourite bears include Leffe, Duvel, Trappist, La chouffe, Bitter and Twisted, Pale Rider and Pecherese (ok this last one is kinda womanly).

Aussie wines are not to badly priced. £8 for a bottle of Wolf Blass Cab is reasonable. More expensive than OZ obviously but still pretty cheap.

"Duvell is nice, but Stella is easier to get your hands on without going to a poncy off license! You dont get duvell in your local spar do you - posh beer boy"

Don't have a local Spar have a local Oddbins. Keeps the riff raff away don't you know. There was even a sign pinned to the door on hogmany saying:

NO!!! We do not sell Buckie!

:)

you lost me after the first three...
but i like your style ilovebeerme.

Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:00, 13th March 2003:

Stella is fuckin rotten! Leffe is nice...the others all sound sort of gay. Especially La Chouffe! Gay Gay gay
Posted by Victor Menendez, 14:00, 13th March 2003:

ILBM: How about Paddington, yogi and gentle ben? ;)
Posted by bored at work, 14:02, 13th March 2003:

Vic, do you agree with the rotten Stella comment?
Posted by ilovebeerme, 14:03, 13th March 2003:

"Stella is fuckin rotten! Leffe is nice...the others all sound sort of gay. Especially La Chouffe! Gay Gay gay"

It is a bit actually. It even has gnomes on the bottle. Big dark belgian brusier though weighing in at a hefty 7.5%. Undertones of a fruit beer but with enough leffe brun style robustness to kick ass. And it only comes in 70cl bottles.
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:04, 13th March 2003:

look; im sure ILBM will agree with me.. but you cant go wrong when you buy your beer from monks who lead a frugal existance so they can dedicate theyre whole day to brewing the perfect beer
(btw did you know why duvel etal. are so strong A: because the monks were only allowed one beer per day so they decided it had better be fucking strong! it the truth!!!)

mmmmmmm...beer.
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:05, 13th March 2003:

Personally i like a good Bottle of Buckfast, or some Leffe Blonde...but i had bad experience on Leffe once.
Posted by plindoe, 14:07, 13th March 2003:

All I heard was blah blah blah blah blah!

Fucking nonses, all beer is good enough if you drink enough. If you wanted to drink something that tasted NICE you would drink pop, if you wanna get pissed you drink beer, simple as!

Obviously beer does taste nice but do you remember your first one?
Tasted like SHITE didnt it, but you drink it now, why? TO GET PISSED!
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:08, 13th March 2003:

i started on vodka.
so beer was like pop!
Posted by ilovebeerme, 14:09, 13th March 2003:

I very very rarely drink just to get pissed actually. I'd much rather go out and have 3 or 4 beers at £4 a go than drink 10 at £2 a go.

Are you poor?

;)
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:09, 13th March 2003:

I started on McEwans Export...mingin!
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:10, 13th March 2003:

i drink for sobriety
Posted by bored at work, 14:11, 13th March 2003:

A true Scotsman drinking McEwans, you and my grandad would get along well.
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:13, 13th March 2003:

I dont drink it anymore, its rank! Such a nasty after taste...i have just started drinking whiskey, but only Glenmorangie.
Posted by chandler, 14:14, 13th March 2003:

come join us in the glen of tranquility?
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:16, 13th March 2003:

or in the hoe's'garden if you so desire?
Posted by bored at work, 14:17, 13th March 2003:

Hoe's Garden sounds far more interestings.
Posted by plindoe, 14:17, 13th March 2003:

I am not particularly poor, but will be soon (Vic knows why!). The problem is with me, if i go out for a COUPLE of beers it ends up being a session, so I would sooner drink pop than have a couple, if that is what i actually am out for!
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:17, 13th March 2003:

I would like to drink in a garden full of hoe's.
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:18, 13th March 2003:

as long as we can get some whisky to loosen up the ladies with!
Posted by plindoe, 14:18, 13th March 2003:

A garden full of Hoe's, now that does sound interesting!
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:18, 13th March 2003:

Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:19, 13th March 2003:

Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:22, 13th March 2003:

Hire naked hoe's for the garden.
Posted by toughseedstakeroot, 14:22, 13th March 2003:

Posted by bored at work, 14:24, 13th March 2003:

Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 14:25, 13th March 2003:

Posted by bored at work, 14:26, 13th March 2003:
