Posted by chandler, 16:13, 21st March 2003:

Posted by Sul, 16:17, 21st March 2003:

I'll sell you my one for half price. I bought it a month ago drunk, only used it to take pictures of my cock.
Posted by RUSS, 16:17, 21st March 2003:

it would be bloody insanity!!
why do you want a 7 grand camera??!!!

are you the richest man in london?
do you get a pound for every post or something?
Posted by jlittle, 16:22, 21st March 2003:

Yes, it would be wrong =\
Posted by Rosie, 16:24, 21st March 2003:

Posted by Sul, 16:25, 21st March 2003:

Pah! So's half the population of internet users.
Posted by chandler, 16:36, 21st March 2003:

so that would be ALL the guys?
Posted by November Eclectica, 16:36, 21st March 2003:

Wow that is a nice camera, but 7000 .. yikes .. that is very expensive.
Posted by beargod, 16:40, 21st March 2003:

I don't have a pic of my Penis yet cos I do't own a camera
Posted by Sul, 16:41, 21st March 2003:

chay: most of them, yeah
Posted by chandler, 16:49, 21st March 2003:

Unless you are a professional photographer then that camera is overkill.

for a start they are pretty big and you couldnt really just use them for holidays or for parties or anything. two handed operation. massive lens
Posted by Grim..., 16:51, 21st March 2003:

Buy it, dude!
Posted by cal, 16:52, 21st March 2003:

i'm fully aware of the size of it chay - i have an EOS1 already
Posted by Sul, 16:52, 21st March 2003:

"two handed operation"

Exactly the problems I was having with it
Posted by chandler, 17:21, 21st March 2003:

well if you have one already why do you need another. too much cash burning a hole in you pocket? Are you a professional phtographer Cal? cos if not then you would be better to spend it on cooler things, like a DV camera and a crossbow
Posted by beargod, 17:21, 21st March 2003:

crossbows are very cool
Posted by chandler, 17:23, 21st March 2003:

judging by the quality of the photos from your LA trip you aren't a professional photographer!! ;)
Posted by Sul, 17:24, 21st March 2003:

a crossbow combined with DV camera, so you can do cool Robin Hood esque shots.
Posted by beargod, 17:26, 21st March 2003:

Robin hood never had a crossbow, just a bow and arrow, which is cool also
Posted by beargod, 17:27, 21st March 2003:

or a DV camera come to think of it.
Posted by cal, 17:30, 21st March 2003:

those aren't my photos - they were chris's

and the EOS1 is an SLR, the EOS1Ds is a digital SLR. very different.
Posted by chandler, 17:35, 21st March 2003:

well yes, digital is lovely. but we have a digital SLR here and it didn't cost £7000. in fact we have 2.
Posted by Sul, 17:36, 21st March 2003:

How the fuck do you know? Were you one of his Merry Men? I think not. If he was robbing people do you really think he never done over the odd Dixons and kept a telly or two for himself? huh?
Posted by cal, 17:40, 21st March 2003:

chay: yeah, and i have a digital camera here that cost under £500, but there's a reason for that - generally the more expensive they are, the better they are ;)
Posted by Sul, 17:44, 21st March 2003:

I can assure you that that isnt the case with whores
Posted by chandler, 17:52, 21st March 2003:

Well we have two digital SLR ones and they came in at between £1500 and £2000 each and they are lovely, lovely quality. mmmm.
Posted by chandler, 17:53, 21st March 2003:

you must get to a point where beyond a certain price you just get more bells and whistles. I dont think any camera that isnt for pro use is worth more than a couple of grand
Posted by cal, 17:56, 21st March 2003:

err, it *is* a pro camera. this is way-out of the "consumer" market
Posted by arsepuppy, 09:06, 24th March 2003:

Personally I would go for the Nikon D1x,like we have at work. They are sexy.
Posted by chris, 22:57, 24th March 2003:

nikon produce that as a professional camera, yet many pro-sumer cameras out play it - which is a shame... this includes my old companies pants efforts.

canon rule, but still arent as good as they were when working with kodak, which is a shame, but they are getting hell lots better!!!!

Canon are the future of pro digital photography for the next couple of years i assure you.

Cal - buy it and i'll cry.
Posted by ell, 00:08, 25th March 2003:

Is it worth 7 grand? Maybe. But more importantly, just think what ELSE you could buy with 7 grand.

One night with Sul, par example.
Posted by msmissy, 04:45, 25th March 2003:

Well, I was just feeling guilty about buyina digital camera last week. Now I feel a whole lot better. Compared to this I got a bargain! I am so thrifty!!
(Is that the real price or is it a typo?)
Posted by reitsma, 04:56, 25th March 2003:

that IS the real price - as far as i know, it is one of, if not the best digital camera on the market.

...and cal: what benefits would this camera provide for you that one a quarter of the price wouldn't? i mean, even if i were given that camera, i know it would be wasted on me - i couldn't see myself taking more than maybe 6 megapixel photos...
and this is from someone who is seriously looking at getting a digital SLR...
Posted by cal, 08:22, 25th March 2003:

i know - i'd be far better off getting the EOS1D (only £4k) which is 4.5 megapix. it's just if i did, i'd then have to spend half as much again if i wanted to upgrade to the Ds.
Posted by ilovebeerme, 08:38, 25th March 2003:

Get one of those disposable cameras their only £5. Then you can spend the rest on a crossbow WITH a flamethrower attachment. Niiiiiiiiice!

And a puppy.
Posted by chandler, 09:07, 25th March 2003:

and a new kitten, cos pickle is looking decidedly unwell
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 10:44, 25th March 2003:

Cal, did you buy it then?
Posted by Sul, 10:49, 25th March 2003:
