So does anyone around here have any cash on the Grand National or are you all above the plebeian tradition?

HAHAHA I pity all the liverpool fans today, I really do :)
Although I did lose on all my bets today. I was at work watching the love commentary on racingpost and they only posted the first 6 finishers. I had money on there being only 6 to 10 finishers at 14/1. I was soo excited but then I found out at about 4:30 that there were 14 finishers. I was a little disappointed. But then the National is a lottery anyway. Ho hum. Good race though.

I used to work at the Arlington Park race track as a ...uh I was a general utility person. (fancy Title for Janitor). I did miscellaneous jobs like painting, sweeping and sometimes I worked as a promotions handler which means that I handed out promotional junk like hats or teddy bears to race track customers.
Arlington Park is an international race track so you may have heard of it..

I remember that there are a lot of funky names for horses, I just can't think of one right now off the top of my head.. that was 23 years ago..
My age is starting to show...

I just looked up the word plebeian. I never heard of that word before. Makes more sense now. I believe it is the opposite of Aristocrat.
