Around CMT, old-timers offhandedly refer to Matt Roben as "the guy who ran away and joined the circus." To those who've only heard about Matt and never met him, it sounds wonderfully impulsive, even glamorous in a knapsack-and-bedroll sort of way. Zany. Gutsy. But a smart career choice?!
