american's dont have text messaging? or at least only got it very recently??
At least that's what my crazy housemate told me...

I wish we didnt have text messaging... it costs me a fortune!!

How big are 'cellphones' getting in the US now? The last time I was there was 3 years ago, and they were still as stunted as ever, thanks to the military using GSM frequencies.

Text messaging on a cell phone. The first time I saw it was when I got my motorola startac phone. I thinks it been about 3 years since then.
