I think Its good, It will bring other people's software into the equation, and hopefully make software cheaper, especially microsoft, but then again Microsoft might not bring their software down in price and still come out of this with only a hanful of people buying different software

It is like Linux is free, and has alot of free things for it, but people sell it and can sell it for quite alot and make alot of money, I think Suse sell their Firewall for Linux for about £900, but I assume it is a good firewall, and thats what most people would think so they will buy it rather then using the free one that comes with most versions of linux

but it says it will make it easier to listen to music and use instant chat with non microsoft software.

but winamp and yahoo messenger seem to do that fine already.
