So you have blagged your way through the chit chat and convinced the prospoective boy/girl to come around for a dinner and drinks. What is the best meal in your repetoire? What ius a sure fire hit for ensuring she/he does not think you a twat?

for me it is my spanish tomato pasta type thing - chillis seem to be always able to get the night rolling!
Posted by Redmaiden, 00:25, 2nd May 2003:

yuck chillis, they make me want to vomit
Posted by t.m., 00:27, 2nd May 2003:

Well I now know that if I ever invite you for a meal NOT to give you anything with chillis!!!!!

Spag Bog - it's about the only dish that i can cook :)
Posted by Sul, 11:01, 2nd May 2003:

Chicken in a red wine sauce and jacket potatoes was probably the best meal Ive ever cooked. One of the only actually if you dont count supernoodles. Never got me laid though :(
Posted by Sul, 11:04, 2nd May 2003:

Actually the best meal I ever cooked was beef in beer. That never got me laid either. Possibly because I cooked it for my family. My dad got a bit frisky with me though
Posted by Sul, 11:04, 2nd May 2003:

Nothing too smelly!! Hmmm, best meal to get laid... probably pasta because it won't go down your front. Although if it does you can pull the whole 'oops, I'm all dirty on my front have to take my top off' routine! Quality!
Posted by Redmaiden, 19:14, 2nd May 2003:

I'd rather say "Hey I'm horny and I'm taking my top off"

Caramalised onion and Talaggio Tart

Whole baked Sea Bream with rosemary and a little garlic. Carrots and ginger. New Potatoes.

Good Ice Cream.

Cheese Board. Brie, Manchego, Dolcelatte and Beaufort

Coffee. Jamaican Blue Mountain.

That would be my last meal. :)

Probably not for a first date though. Hmmmm. Just kill a dog and garnish it with tramps toe nails.

argh! apparently we've got fupping ants in the kitchen... because those c*nts keep leaving food everywhere.. apparently the 'bin' is a foreign concept to them, as is 'washing up'
i think i might start a 'countdown' thread to count down the amount of days left that i have to endure this horrible place..

I have to study for a very boring exam that I have to pass on wednesday.
I think I suddenly need to scrub the kitchen floor first :)

Nothing compared to your final project though, so good luck !
(but then I looked at all your stuff in your portfolio and Im sure it will be amazing :) )

can I rock too? I've deluded myself into thinking that I can draw although my leo sayer looks nothing like him. In fact I'll scan it and show you what I mean then you can decide wether I can be in your club.

Oh and I'm too stupid and too clean* to go to university.

*this is probably also a delusion

anything phallic is good for a first dinner date type thing, corn on the cob, asparagus, jumbo sausages, a good time to be had by all.
Posted by cal, 22:55, 4th May 2003:

chay - did you edit your own posts?
Posted by reitsma, 01:51, 5th May 2003:

mmmmmmm food.

i love food.

to celebrate our one year anniversary of going out, i cooked up for my girlfriend:

sang choi bow as an entree.

rice with :
- beef and spinach with chilli
- grilled chicken thigh cutlets with this yummy lime/sweet chilli sauce/other stuff marinade.
- some other nice chicken dish that i can't recall right now

for mains,

and pastry with fresh berries, passionfruit and cream for dessert.

only problem with all that cooking is that you spend more time in the kitchen preparing than at the table eating and talking; that's why the night was a double date (so my dear lady didn't have to sit there bored while i was out cooking).

------------------------------------

and for an easy meal, i love my italiasian creation:

slice mushrooms thinly, and cook in olive oil with frying pan.
once softened, add some leggos creamy sundried tomato pesto, mix.

whilst cooking this, soak hokkien noodles in boiled water, loosen and drain.

add noodles to pan, mix, and add most/remains of pesto.

with a bit of practice, you can get this meal ready from start to finish in well under 15 minutes, and it tastes great - and is a veggie meal!

...for extra variations, you can add dry roasted pine nuts (but this is for one, time consuming, and for another, pretty darn expensive!), or spinach.

darn, this is making me hungry!
