Thats right folks I'm off to the opera! Who would have thought it, me a poor boy, empty as a pocket, off to the opera? Going to see Carmen at Edinburghs fine Playhouse tonight. It is supposed to be steamy and sexy and has one of the andalucian dancing horses from Gladiator in it! They even have him on the posters cause he's the most famous cast member.

Expect a full report tomorrow.

nice.
i saw carmen at the new york metropolitan. there were 4 acts and i slept through the third because it was so god damn boring. the rest was good though.

the horses dont sing though... which was a disappointment.

It was pretty damn good! Music and performing was excellent. The sets were not bad but I think they were limited a bit by the theatre, it would have been many times better in a big outdoor location. Costumes were fantastic and the horse was great although a bit pointless. Unfortunately the theatre was about 35 degrees and there was NO leg room.

Overall it was a great night out and recommended. As for opera in general it wasn't half bad and while I won't be rushing back every month or anything I would definitely go again. Nice one.

The horse did not take a dump on stage :(
