Chic Happens points us to the current German TV fad to find the Greatest German Ever. Einstein, Freud, Marx and, er, Claudia Schiffer are competing for the title. For influence on modern culture alone, I'd put my money on Nietzsche.
What about Heinrich Beurl? (I can't spell his surname but it sounds like that)
Freud fucking sucked big time
Chic happens? sounds dreadful!!

No no - Chic Happens is great. Maybe it's not your sort of thing... errr. If you are into celeb gossip,
pagesix.com is also good, but for UK stuff it simply *has* to be

Freud was born in Freiberg, Moravia (now Príbor, Czech Republic) so is actually Austrian. Don't ask me why he's included. Einstein was born in Germany.
Hitler, on the other hand, was born in Brannau, Austria. Of course if you buy the whole Anschluss theory then the Austria/Germany divide is irrelevant...
I'm really not into celebrity gossip

how about Frederick the Great, you dont get a name like that for nothing.

Halt the competition. Heidi has this one, by a leg. Closely followed by Claudia Schiffer.
Steffi Graf disqualified from citizenship for tax fraud.
Heidi and Claudia are great for...exactly what reason? Being blonde bimbos?
Wooo go Germany!

YAY blonde Bimbos, that is what the world is about
Actually i have great respect for Claudia Schiffer for she helped me prove my magician theory, Paul Daniels pulled Debbie Macgee? Now THATS magic! I laughed at David Copperfields 'Great Wall of China' Stunt, and i laughed at him styling himself like David Hasslehoff, but looking like he does he married Claudia. Magic might be just trickery, but its trickery i'd like to learn.

I don't think Claudia and David were actually married... and even if they were, they aren't anymore. So, apparently David lost his "charm" after awhile.
Yeah, the magic's gone in that relationship.

If that was supposed to be German, I'm afraid you'll have to pick up your dictionary again and start looking for the right words. What you wrote, unfortunately, doesn't make any sense ...

we dont have presidential elections cos we dont live in America
Its actually a line from 'The Producers'

Where do you live, chandler?
Victor Menendez, do you know what that line is supposed to mean in English?
@Chay: i think they are in 2004.
Have you heard the German band?
(thats the line, not a question)

@chandler: I live in Germany. You Brits seem to be getting everywhere. This morning, I even found one lying next to me in bed ... (she's been there for the last 19 years. So, I suppose, it should be ok). Thanks to my colleagues at work, who 19 years ago gave me the title of a useful book ("English cooking and how to survive it") I'm still ok, too.
Well, back to the main subject - I thought I had come across yet another American board.
@Victor Menendez: in German it should be "Haben Sie die deutsche Band gehoert?" When people speak English in German films, occasionally, it sounds very odd to me, too!
Posted by
chandler, 12:42, 8th May 2003:
if someone says they like your dulcet tones it means that they think your voice is soothing and melodius and pleasent to the ear.

Therefore, "he left again", yes, unfortunately! and "was it something we said?" By no means! It just wasn't the right time for me to log on. Occasionally, this damned job keeps me busy ...
