I was reading the "Rural Newsletter" from where I am living at the moment (it's in the middle of countryside), and it gives a report of all the crime in the area over the past month.

In the villege i'm in, a massive 4 crimes were reported last one - one burglary (but it noted that they believed it was someone with ligitimate access in a "very stresfull time" for the victim), there was two vandalisms (apparently someone flower pots got broken near a pub - twice!), but by far the most ammusing of the reports was this:

"Someone has reported recieving an email from someone in South Africa claiming to be top officals asking for bank details on where they can deposit some money - this is a scam, please do not reply to these sorts of emails".

Classic.

Heh heh. We've got too many kids in our village. They usually come and drive their pikey motors around and smash stuff up. We had an arson last year on the kids playground.

But other than that, we're relatively crime free!

I would hate to see the number of crimes within middlesbrough
Posted by cal, 09:45, 8th May 2003:

i don't think the human brain can comprehend that number

The crime in my area's always pretty cool. People stealing JCBs and leaving them in the middle of main roads. People stealing JCBs and driving into shop walls to steal the cash point. People burning pretty much everything. People smashing pretty much everything. Beatings, muggings, pub brawls, gang fights...

and thats only the stuff that I'm involved in.

Theres loads of crime where I live. The worst was probably the torso that was found in the Thames right near my mums house a couple of years ago.

Nice, eh?
Posted by chandler, 10:56, 8th May 2003:

yuk
Posted by Rosie, 11:02, 8th May 2003:

Yeah, it was really yuk! They also found someones arm in the river a bit further down as well. It didn't belong to the torso that was found - it was from someone else.
Posted by jlittle, 11:36, 8th May 2003:

cal - where was that?
Posted by ilovebeerme, 11:54, 8th May 2003:

Losing an arm I can understand but how do you lose your torso!!
Posted by chandler, 12:03, 8th May 2003:

to lose an arm may be considered a misfortune, but to lose a torso is just plain carelessness.
Posted by jlittle, 12:06, 8th May 2003:
