no probs, we are in the middleof decorating a house that we are moving into in a couple of weeks...

Choosing colours is hell!!
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 10:39, 19th May 2003:

Dont even mention painting!!!
Posted by beargod, 10:42, 19th May 2003:

still gets you out of work to do something different
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 10:44, 19th May 2003:

No, painting gets done after work, and at the weekend! Its a complete pain in the ass...as you will probably tell i have been painting my flat ready for sell..actually, anyone want to buy a flat in South side Glasgow.

We have been painting for the last ten days now and are knackered!
We will have a nice house soon though!!
Posted by earthworm, 10:58, 19th May 2003:

I was getting headaches yesterday from the paint...

We're having to give everything at least 2-3 coats of white emulsion before we can put a colour on as the people before us had everything painted dard reds and blues...

earthworm & bangabongo, why did you not use paper? Paste a layer of thick white paper over the old paint, wait one day and then paint on top of that...hey presto, no 3 layers of paint. Easy.
Posted by chandler, 11:04, 19th May 2003:

yeah thick lining paper is great
Posted by earthworm, 11:04, 19th May 2003:

probably should have done... That would have actually been a very good idea...

How about the ultra lazy method and paint the paper before putting it up on the wall...
Posted by chandler, 11:10, 19th May 2003:

nah its easier to paint when it is up
Posted by earthworm, 11:11, 19th May 2003:

lol... I was only joking...

Has anyone got any other decorating tips?
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 11:12, 19th May 2003:

sheesh..if you want any tips regarding DIY, i am yer'man!

So, does anyone want to buy a flat in Glasgow? Cal? Everyone seems to think you are minted, fancy a holiday flat in a very exclusive area of Glasgow? *snigger*

Earthworm, what else have you to do in the new house? I might be able to help.
Posted by earthworm, 11:35, 19th May 2003:

just interior things...

We're on painting 4 rooms at the minute... (whiting them down)
Installing a burglar alarm...
Installing a Combi boiler (BAXI is shit!)
Loft conversion...

just the usual stuff...
Posted by Foghorn Leghorn, 11:38, 19th May 2003:

hmm..

1) Use lining paper
2) Get someone to install
3) Get someone to install (must be Corgi) and watch what the flue is made of.
4) no idea.
