Title: Fallen
Artist: Evanescence
Rating: 5/5
WOW - What a fucking great album. A cross between Linkin Park and Tory Amos.
I heard "Bring me to Life" on Radio1, and decided to get the album hoping that it would not be the only good track on the album - it wasn't - they are all graet, the lead singer has a fantastic voice and this will be on my playlist for a long, long time.
ooh, a cross between linkin park and tori amos, kind of like a cross between pushing a wire wool cotton bud up your urethra and putting cigarettes out on your eyeballs.

I hear you like Wire Cotton Buds tho.....
that sounds about right Vic. Tori Amos, come on...the only good thing about her is that she wears no pants while playing the piano.
"

Leave Mrs Franklin out of this! FFS she said a little prayer for you and everything.
Ah, sorry bit slow today. nice one.

Have you listened to track 4 on the Evanescence CD? I loved that song. It is an awsoem CD. She has a very powerful voice.

Yeah, listened the the whole album a few times over now - My Immortal (track 4) is very good - got it playing full volume now.
I listened to it last night at bedtime and awoke to it still playing this morning.
I have to listen to music to help me sleep either that or cuddle with someone.

Evanescence is kiddy pop cock rock......cheesy music to laugh to when stoned....amazing how they sing with such seriousness even when knowing how bad they are.....
Michael Jackson's still amazing (musically)......and yeah he is a freak.

and just as their name suggest....the will disappear like vapor.....
i love tori amos! in the sense that i love her music- not because she may or may not wear knickers when she plays.
do you have any evidence to back up the fact she doen't wear knickers whilst playing the piano...??

AM didn't say that. AM said she may or may not be wearing them. I think that's a safe bet.
Three cheers for resurrecting dead threads, there's not enough of that going on.

Blah Evanescence wanna here where they got their vocal stylings from? Listen to Lacuna Coil. And Tori Amos if feckin awesome. She has that old 40s quality about her voice. *And If I die today Ill be a happy phantom*

I love that song!
Kate Bush >>>> Tori Amos...
My sister likes Evanescence. She's mid 40's and is a cat obsessed eccentric. She usually has good taste but Evanescence surely are the exception to this rule.
">>>>>>" as in "so much better than"
I like old Tori though...

Well I'm very sorry, but I like Kate Bush, Tory Amos AND Evanescence. So shoot me. I think it's irrelevant to say where someone copied their vocal style from. You could argue that David Sylvian was an imitation of Bryan Ferry, or Simon Climie was just emulating Rod Stewart. But so what? If it works, it works. There's very little that's genuinely original.
I'll have to agree with you there.
(but I was saying one was better..and...and....ah, fuckit.)
Tori's great. Evanescance aren't too bad either. Nothing incredible, but certainly not the shittest band in the world. Nothing like as bad as Dido....
or the strokes..
BLEURGH!
Don't mind the Strokes, personally. They're not as great as the hype suggests though.
Dido can fuck off though.
In reference to WH's post, I think early Roxy Music and early Rod Stewart is ace.

Re: The Strokes. The first album was great, the second one was pretty poor.
Spot on Sul.
I listened and listened to the second one but it really is a bit, well, *meh*.
It's ok when you listen to it, but when you're not listening to it, to don't ever feel "Ooh! I wouldn't mind sticking that on" or anything.
First one was great though :)
I dunno, it's a bit too much style over content for me. Lo-fi for the sake of being Lo-Fi.
Funny how they spectacularly failed to become the "Saviours of Rock n Roll" though isn't it?
"Funny how they spectacularly failed to become the "Saviours of Rock n Roll" though isn't it?"
But that sounds like an NME-style quote. Since the NME is absolutely fuck-awful and only has a negative effect on music we should ignore them. Case in point - their pimping of the sodding Vines and their recent themed issues about 'wow look at these people! They're cool because they're DEAD!!11' to merely scratch the surface. Oy Vey. It's the worst fucking publication on this earth.
If only EMAP owned it, then they could've shitcanned it along with 'The Face', which should have closed in 1987 when they failed to predict acid house, instead predicting that 'the kids' will soon all be into progressive jazz (or some bollocks like that, I don't remember).

The "Saviours of Rock n Roll"? Nonsense. Its doing great as it is. Rock'll be fine as long as those Busted boys continue to get pissed up at awards bashes. I'm waiting for the Busted/McFly kick off. That'll be fucking great!
