Anyone else watch it?
What you think about it?
Not as good as the first one I think anyway!

I liked it - seen it twice now - excellent film and deffinately needs one than one viewing before you can work everything out! bad comments are :
1) Although you can never have /too/ much action, there were parts that were not necasary - ie - after Neo had seen The Oracle the fight scene lasted ages, and he was never goign to be able to kill them all with just his fists anyhow! should of just run..
2) It's great to see the new trailer at the end of the film - but what is the point in putting it AFTER the credits (that last a stupid amount of time - did we really need to know who the website designer is ffs?) - everyone had gone by then apart from a few people that must of read it was at the end!

I agree about the trailer jlittle
It took to long to get started, the Computer graphics were way too obvious and therefore it seemedawfully bad, if they had only used there budget on the film and not trying to get as much staff as possible.
It was still a good film though, but I would never say it was better then the first one

I personally wouldn't say it's either better or worse than the first one - the first one had more of an element of suprise, which is what you generally get with a film such as that - to follow it was always going to be hard, and if Neo could only just stop bullets, etc, it would of been pretty shit.
I also don't think it took too long to get started, I know there isn't that much fighting at the beggining, but I think the writers needed to do that so that they could show the battle of convincing people that Neo is "the one".
I also completely disagree with the computer graphics - I thought they were excellent.

worse than the first one. split too much into "action" parts and "story" parts (which were badly written). took way too long to get started, felt slow and dragging for the first 30 mins. the graphics were mainly ok, but with some awful lapses - the scene in which neo fights the smiths after meeting the oracle (not the "omen"!), the smiths are very badly done, which spoiled it quite a bit. still, worth seeing.
there was a trailer after the credits? that's dumb.
"neo fights the smiths"
What???
Morrissey gets in a scrap? Coooool.

its a trailer for the next one
I personally thought the graphics had bad lighting and were too obviously computer generated, especially when one of the agents jumped on the car, kind of ruined it for me

I did like the bit where he was hitting the agent smith away like a ball, with the pipe bit, even though that really was one of the least looking bits about it
Earthworm and I have a friend who is in Austrailia and has seen it - reckons it was excellent...
I hope we get chance to see it at the weekend!
All I know is that the trailers looked FAB!!!

I was considering not going to see it because the trailers showed the bad cg bits, i wasn't disapointed having gone though, they needed less cg like in the first one
*imagines Morrissey battering Neo with some gladioli*

Bad CGI? I mean come on! What do you guys expect. This is probably the best looking CGI ever seen, apart from Gollum of course - but even he looked CG. Bottom line is - it's never going to look real but I reckon it came pretty close to being as seamless as it gets.
Don't get me wrong, I didn't think it had as much impact as the first Matrix but then sequels very rarely do, and with Joel Silver mouthing off every five minutes about how 'this has never been done before' can only raise peoples expectations so high that it kills the effect of the sequel.
I was blown away by some sequences (whether they looked CG or not) - the truck crash toward the end was a notable stand-out for me but then others left me wondering why? - I thought the Zion party scenes were crap as were the love scenes... Unless there's going to be a birth in Revolutions (which is not outside the realms of possibility) then I saw no point in showing them shag...At least give us a bit more flesh to look at!
Anyway, I'll be watching it at the cinema next week to get the full impact so maybe I'll have more to post then...

seen the trailer now.
Greeny: best cg ever? not by a long shot. some of the cg was pretty fucking terrible.
james: i did like the ssh bit. but i *think* it was slightly off, since she did "ssh 10.2.2.2 -l root" when she was already root at the local machine. the "-l root" was superlfuous.
Greeny the point of the sex scene was to get my girlfriend all hot and bothered in order that I get a good seeing to. Good work Wachowski brothers.
The only REALLY bad CGI moment for me was when one of the twins ripped of the car roof. It flew away like a crap tissue.

parts of the smith fight scene were very bad - his face looked very very wrong
I'll keep an eye open on repeat viewings.... The ghost morphing stuff of the twins was quality stuff.

and the jumping on the front of the car that couldn't have been less realistic if they tried
Sure it could. He could have landed three feet above the bonnet, turned into a pak choi and started speaking Norwegian.
