Sorry to start another thread on this, but I'm wondering what the people that have seen this thought it was all about.

How did Neo stop those worm type things back in the "real" world? etc..

Here's something I found on the web - not sure if the person is right, but sounds pretty good..

---------

I am not sure if to many people truly understand what this movie is actually saying, so I will try to explain it for those that don't get what they just saw.

The first thing I recommend is that you try to remove your ego, people all have them - so they believe that the movie must be about people. But actually it is about software and mainframe code.

The main computer has been caught in a loop cycle for 5 iterations, and it is trying to find a variance that will break this cycle by utilizing a random bit anomaly piece of software (Neo), to allow it to fully complete its cycle. It has tried this before, but has always failed and in its attempts.

It is trying to factor in all variables of its program to make absolute sure of complete success before it attempts to actually implement the complete procedure, like an good piece of software (debugging iteself - "it is the why that is important").

Beta software waiting to go gold. The only factor that was not counted on was an anomaly of two programs intersecting and one becoming a self-replicating virus bent on absolute destruction (Smith), and the anomoly (Neo) complementing his program with protectorate software. This is a brilliant movie, that once you wrap your head around, is really just an ultimate version of Tron with no human watchers (Jeff Bridges), of a computer SuperNoc running through a simulation with all possible factors being worked first, before it initializes the program for real.

If Neo completes his role and meets his ultimate purpose as software, then our hero allows the computer to see all variances that it will need to contend with, so that it can fully implement the real program on our world.

Matrix - main base operating system.

Zion - secondary operating system for software that can no longer can function in main sytem - but can be utilized to build new a matrix system.

Neo - Random bit anomaly software for breaking loop cycle utilized by the Oracle and Architect software to be a random variable to upgrade itself upgraded with protectorate code from.... Smith (Anti-Virus).

Trinity - complement software to aid in Neo's completion of purpose.

Morpheus and crew - collector programs for mainframe to try to enable the end of the loop cycle.

Architect - Mainframe operating system.

Oracle - old Macro Software that has been part of all 5 iterations of the loop and can see all variances.

Oracle's Protector, Seraph - Mainframe hard code software.

Merovingian - old Neo that did not fully implement objective in beta 5.0.

Merovingian's wife - Old Trinity code.

Twins, and Merovingian's guards - old base black ice protector code.

Head Counselor in Zion - Advisor for Mainframe that advises Neo along his upgrade to not touch the main bios (engineering) systems.

Key Maker - come on now, too easy, a simple keygen.

Smith - self-replicating virus - now capable of moving to either system infused with anomaly code from Neo.

I truly loved this movie and it is so amazingly deep compared to the first if you know what it really happening. I hope this helps anyone who walked out of the theater like 95% of the crowd I saw it with, scratching their heads thinking, "What the f**K, that was stupid I dont get it."

I am stating that what I am saying is absolute, but if you watch the movie and listen to what they all truly are saying it seems pretty obvious. Be wary all, your hero is our destruction, enjoy All your base are belong to us.

The thing that gets be about this, is if this bloke /is/ right, and Zion is a secondary OS, etc - does that mean that there are no real people, anywhere? is it just a computer generated world of programs - what happens to the people in Zion that die, etc - are humans really dying, or is just a program being deleted?

MAJOR MAJOR SPOILER - dont read if you hav'nt seen it!!!

Was pondering this. So zion is also part of the Matrix and the Oracle (or I thought Trinity) is it's 'mother'. Is the whole belief of people in zion that they are free simply a last line of defence for the mainframe? If it is still part of the MAtrix then the people must be plugged in somewhere, in which case why not just flush them when the regain a certain level of consciousness? Or does making them believe they have been re-entered into the real world erode their resolve? After all it's 'the question that drives us'.

The choice seems odd though. Neo now believes he is The One. Why would he therefore chose the door that restarts the process of creating zion and searching for a new One? He would obviosly make the (wrong?) choice of saving trinity and dooming the human race. Thus making it the right choice all along and the only one possible by design.

I'm confused.

The Architect - Hello, Neo.

Neo - Who are you?

The Architect - I am the Architect. I created the matrix. I've been waiting for you. You have many questions, and although the process has altered your consciousness, you remain irrevocably human. Ergo, some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not. Concordantly, while your first question may be the most pertinent, you may or may not realize it is also irrelevant.

Neo - Why am I here?

The Architect - Your life is the sum of a remainder of an unbalanced equation inherent to the programming of the matrix. You are the eventuality of an anomaly, which despite my sincerest efforts I have been unable to eliminate from what is otherwise a harmony of mathematical precision. While it remains a burden to sedulously avoid it, it is not unexpected, and thus not beyond a measure of control. Which has led you, inexorably, here.

Neo - You haven't answered my question.

The Architect - Quite right. Interesting. That was quicker than the others.

*The responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: "Others? What others? How many? Answer me!"*

The Architect - The matrix is older than you know. I prefer counting from the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next, in which case this is the sixth version.

*Again, the responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: "Five versions? Three? I've been lied too. This is bulls***."*

Neo: There are only two possible explanations: either no one told me, or no one knows.

The Architect - Precisely. As you are undoubtedly gathering, the anomaly's systemic, creating fluctuations in even the most simplistic equations.

*Once again, the responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: "You can't control me! F*ck you! I'm going to kill you! You can't make me do anything!*

Neo - Choice. The problem is choice.

*The scene cuts to Trinity fighting an agent, and then back to the Architect's room*

The Architect - The first matrix I designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime. A triumph equaled only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is as apparent to me now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every human being, thus I redesigned it based on your history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of your nature. However, I was again frustrated by failure. I have since come to understand that the answer eluded me because it required a lesser mind, or perhaps a mind less bound by the parameters of perfection. Thus, the answer was stumbled upon by another, an intuitive program, initially created to investigate certain aspects of the human psyche. If I am the father of the matrix, she would undoubtedly be its mother.

Neo - The Oracle.

The Architect - Please. As I was saying, she stumbled upon a solution whereby nearly 99.9% of all test subjects accepted the program, as long as they were given a choice, even if they were only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level. While this answer functioned, it was obviously fundamentally flawed, thus creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that if left unchecked might threaten the system itself. Ergo, those that refused the program, while a minority, if unchecked, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster.

Neo - This is about Zion.

The Architect - You are here because Zion is about to be destroyed. Its every living inhabitant terminated, its entire existence eradicated.

Neo - Bulls***.

*The responses of the other Ones appear on the monitors: "Bulls***!"*

The Architect - Denial is the most predictable of all human responses. But, rest assured, this will be the sixth time we have destroyed it, and we have become exceedingly efficient at it.

*Scene cuts to Trinity fighting an agent, and then back to the Architects room.*

The Architect - The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program. After which you will be required to select from the matrix 23 individuals, 16 female, 7 male, to rebuild Zion. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the matrix, which coupled with the extermination of Zion will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race.

Neo - You won't let it happen, you can't. You need human beings to survive.

The Architect - There are levels of survival we are prepared to accept. However, the relevant issue is whether or not you are ready to accept the responsibility for the death of every human being in this world.

*The Architect presses a button on a pen that he is holding, and images of people from all over the matrix appear on the monitors*

The Architect - It is interesting reading your reactions. Your five predecessors were by design based on a similar predication, a contingent affirmation that was meant to create a profound attachment to the rest of your species, facilitating the function of the one. While the others experienced this in a very general way, your experience is far more specific. Vis-a-vis, love.

*Images of Trinity fighting the agent from Neo's dream appear on the monitors*

Neo - Trinity.

The Architect - Apropos, she entered the matrix to save your life at the cost of her own.

Neo - No!

The Architect - Which brings us at last to the moment of truth, wherein the fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed, and the anomaly revealed as both beginning, and end. There are two doors. The door to your right leads to the source, and the salvation of Zion. The door to the left leads back to the matrix, to her, and to the end of your species. As you adequately put, the problem is choice. But we already know what you're going to do, don't we? Already I can see the chain reaction, the chemical precursors that signal the onset of emotion, designed specifically to overwhelm logic, and reason. An emotion that is already blinding you from the simple, and obvious truth: she is going to die, and there is nothing that you can do to stop it.

*Neo walks to the door on his left*

The Architect - Humph. Hope, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness.

Neo - If I were you, I would hope that we don't meet again.

The Architect - We won't.

Hmmm, so he didn't go to the source - thus apparently killing all humans?
Posted by ilovebeerme, 10:56, 23rd May 2003:

Well the imminant destruction of Zion being the death of all humans. Unless he can stop it. However, if Zion is part of the Matrix too then what does it matter?

But here he is saying that Neo needs to take the door to the source, and to rebuild Zion (so he's saying zion is fucked whatever happens?), but if he takes the door to the Matrix, and Trinity, then ALL of the human race will die - that's the choice that Neo made (and isn't that different to what the other "Ones" did?).

He also said that Trinity would die - but she didn't - I wonder if he knew that Neo would be able to save her - and in the next film, will the matrix crash because of the choice that Neo made?

Hmmmmmmm

You do realise that its all just heavily edited crap from some hollywood scriptwriters head don't you?
Posted by ilovebeerme, 11:21, 23rd May 2003:

yes mum we know.

There was an article in New Scientist last year about the possibility of the Matrix though. It was all about probability. The technology to make a Matrix will exist at some point, be it 50, 200 or 10,000 years from now. Therefore, the probability that you are living in one now is vastly increased. It was obviously a good bit more technical than this. Very tongue in cheek but entertaining.

Then I jumped of my garage and broke my leg :(

Answering own question :

Of course, if he was going to go get save her and crash the whole matrix, and kill all humans, she would also die (in the long run).

you know vic - i saw this bit wear neo blinked twice when everyone else blinked once - could this be the hug flaw in the matrix that undoes time and history, turn reality and imagination inside out and eventually Batman will save them all?

That movie was the best piece of scifi that I have seen.

I am a professional programmer and I wonder if my programming knowledge made me have a different view than if I was a carpenter or doctor or lawyer etc.

Here are my comments and questions about it:

1> I like the way that smith abandoned being an agent and went off on his own agenda. Neo infected him unwittingly and made him a more dangerous enemy in the process.

2> Neo needs to spread his chaos throughout the system and just cause it to crash. When he flew through that city he caused all kinds of damage in his wake. They never explained that. I guess we werent supposed to notice?

3> what I want to know is why the hell didn't Neo just kill the architect? He had the old geezer just sitting there in that room with all the monitors.

4> What is the deal with that agent that went back through the telephone "leaving the matrix" That guy on the table at the end of the movie. Is he the next informant?
Posted by ell, 16:27, 26th May 2003:

2. Wasn't the chaos happening just because of Neo's turbulance from going so fast? I don't think it was supposed to be just because of his presence or anything.

4. It looked like Smith totally took over the guy when he copied himself.. the whole planning to knife Neo thing, the blatant sabotage with the EMP, and taking on Smith's speech patterns. The beard and lack of sunglasses are to throw everyone off the trail. :)

Excellent film, but if you thought that was the best piece of Scifi ever though, I'd suggest you watch more.

If I had three thumbs, they would all be up.
Posted by vortexjjf, 21:43, 26th May 2003:

1 - I agree with ell. The broken windows and flying cars were not because neo was disrupting the matrix. It was the effect of how fast he was flying.
2 - Also, I don't believe the Wachowski's would have made it so that the real world is also a computer program. Neo was able to stop the sentinels because of the transfer of code between himself and Smith. In the first movie, during the scene in which Smith is interrogating Morpheus, Smith says to Agent Jones, "We have no choice but to continue as planned. Deploy the sentinels. Immediately." I believe that this shows that Agents act as the generals of the armies of sentinels. If Neo had some of Smith in him, perhaps he had the ability to control the sentinels.
Posted by vortexjjf, 21:46, 26th May 2003:

Another proof to my theory:

Agent Brown: The trace was completed.

Agent Jones: We have their position.

Agent Brown: The sentinels are standing by.

Agent Jones: Order the strike.
Posted by chris, 22:35, 26th May 2003:

Now to confuse you all, I have the game - which runs along side the film!

I completed it earlier.

Now, the oracle - she gets in contact with the logos (Niaobe's ship) and she sends Ghost to speak to her.

The Oracle is even unsure of what is going to happen in the future!

She just doesn't know!!!

Great game btw, loads of film in it including the big lorry crash and loadsa characters!
Posted by Sul, 22:54, 26th May 2003:

That's such a coincidence because the oracle support team at work have no idea whats happening either
Posted by vortexjjf, 23:02, 26th May 2003:

Two possibilities for the Oracle no knowing:
1: She really does know but can't tell Ghost (in the first movie she told neo only what he needed to hear)
2: Since it all depends on Neo and his choices (which we see are pretty unredictable) and Neo is not held by the Matrix, she cannot see past the things that are dependent on him.

Probally because it wasn't the architect - was just a computer program of him, so killing him wouldn't of done anything (and anyway - if he /was/ real - he would of died in the Blast (as he went out of the door).

jeff: its quite simple really.

they show the sex scene with neo and trinity - but dear trinity wants to preserve her dignity (she must preserve the mystery that the tight pvc creates for her male fans), hence you get a breast free sex scene.
As such, the director cuts in some token breasts to placate the disappointed nerds who were hoping to get a glimpse of trinity's bits.

(that, and to show the sexual nature of zion - multiplying and increasing in number and whatnot.)

hmm, i see your point about the sexual multiplying thing but still it reeked of filler to me... just needed some crazy red headed jim henson creation to launch herself off one of the rocks and for some small men with teeny diggers in the foreground ;)

vortexjjf - u seem to know a lot about the movie - are u sure about everyhing u say?
I have one question for you - what does neo and agent smith have in common now? why did u say that neo has a part of smith in him and he can controll the setinalls
Posted by mastermind545, 03:41, 29th May 2003:

What Vortex is trying to say is that Neo is a part of Smith and Smith is a part of Neo, as is mentioned explicitly in the movie. Some of Neo overwrote onto Smith and vice versa when Neo went into him in the hallway in the first movie. Smith is now unplugged, and as Vortex proved before that the agents control the sentinals, Neo now has the ability to control the sentinels. Why did he faint is the question....People--There's a third movie for a reason! All your questions will be answered. Just be patient.
Posted by jeffld, 03:45, 29th May 2003:

mastermind - what are u talking about when u said u know that the cake came from 7135 N. Carpenter Rd, Skokie, Illinois, 60077? im gonna find out where this place is and call it - i hope its ur house so we can have a little talk
Posted by matrixman, 04:15, 29th May 2003:

i have a question - if any1 knows the answer -When Neo, Morpheus and Trinity go to speak with Merovingian and Persiphanie they walk into the restaurant and walk down the aisle towards the table the two are sitting at. The camera seems to take on the perspective of Neo and as we get our first glance of these two its seems to be a bit out of focus and instead of the camera stopping on them it slides by and neo seems to focus on a guy that is being led away from the table. This guy glances over his should and looks RIGHT AT Neo. Theres a shot change to Neos face and for only a sec he looks like he should have just realized something happened and doesnt and he looks back to the table. Does that guy hold any significance?
If not why spend any time on him? Probably nothing but did anyone else notice that? It just struck me as kinda strange.
Posted by matrixman, 04:17, 29th May 2003:

Before Neo goes to meet the oracle in Reloaded, he waits for a sign from her. Two zionists are in the matrix looking for the "package" One of the zionists manages to disconnect from the matrix and return to zion with a SEALED envelope that is referred to as the package. After he disappears, the other is take over my agent smith. So, how is the guy able to bring the package, a physical object in a sealed envelope back to zion from the matrix? Some people think that Zion is a second matrix, but even if it is, the Zionists have no clue about that at this point in the movie so how could they think that they could take a physical object out of the matrix with them? This is a serious flaw! There must be some explanation as I think and hope that the brothers are too smart to have missed this.
Posted by matrixman, 04:26, 29th May 2003:

a friend and i remembered that in the first matrix when neo was put in the questioning room with the agents that the camera zoomed in on and then into one of many monitor screens just like in reloaded with the architect.

i believe it was the architect watching him all along.i originally thought all those montitors were security cameras.
Posted by matrixman, 04:27, 29th May 2003:

actually i just watched matrix 1 again and the indiviual screens in M1 had a wee border around them, and the ones in the Architects room were like one big screen made up of little ones (if you catch my drift).
I think thats what it was like anyway, i could be wrong.

Mastermind is a tight friend of mine, has seen M1 quite a few more than 8 times i highly respect his opinion.
In response to ur other questions, matrixman, many of them are questtions that i have asked myself and could not find answers to. Some, however i do have answers for and i will suggest them.
1) Mastermind was right abut my explanantion for stopping the sentinels
2)I noticed the camera pan-and-blurr but couldn't figure anything out
3)In regards to the disk that the dude pulled out of the matrix with him: im not sure how it got into the real world (same problem with the Enter the Matrix game) but i think i know about its contents. Before link sends trinity into the matrix to hack the electrical backup he says it was a messy hack and that he ouldnt get her too close to the building. if u have to hack to get to a certain location within the matrix, that disk could have been the hack to materialze in chinatown to meet with Seraph
4)Seraph seems to be a special program (he shows up in what looks like a major fight in a preview for the third movie) this could have something to do with his gold appearance (this was the preview at the end of the ps2 game)
5)I maintain that the TVs in M1 were the Architect's TVs but those original tvs were in the plane crash with aaliyah and they were forced to replace them with new ones
Good Questions, Matrixman
p.s. im still workin on seraph's color (i dont like my answer yet)
Posted by vortexjjf, 08:18, 29th May 2003:

An answer suggested by my bro-in-law: all computer programs come up as gold within the matrix, whereas real people show up as green and thats how he knew, off-the-bat, that the oracle was not human(i do not agree with that because at the end of M1 the Agnets, who are prgrams, are green in matrix code)
Posted by vortexjjf, 08:25, 29th May 2003:

Another theory from my bro-in-law (this one's almost good): the reason neo could stop the sentinels was because of his choice in the Architect's room. By choosing door #2, Neo broke a barrier in the span of his abilities because he broke the cycle that the Machines had set up in which The One picks the door that leads back to the source. Now he has a new ability, a direct connection to speak to the machines (while my answer and his are similar there are differences in the way he communicates to the machines, kinda complicated to put in a post, ill try to do it when i have more time)

Questions:
1) In M1, in the Oracle's apartment, the "potentials" what are they potentials for?
2) Where did Morpheus and Trinity plan on going with the Key Maker once the got to the Winslow Overpass, he doesn't have a body in the real world the jack-out to. Did he stay in the Matrix with Morpheus the whole time?

Posted by vortexjjf, 15:12, 29th May 2003:

The "kid" that Neo talks to in Zion is actually named Kid. I believe we find out more about him in the animatrix. On the Matrix website, one of the Animatrix's is called Kid's Story. I assume this is similar to Detective Story, but with a happier ending (meaning the Neo actually gets Kid out of the Matrix)
Posted by vortexjjf, 15:16, 29th May 2003:

In regards to the Yellow code, it could be that Agents are different because they are code that can insert themselves into real people, we see that their code becomes an internal part of the person (even when bane is in the real world, smith is somehow in him) So, the fact that the Agents are green in M1 could be because they took over people. However, other programs, that are limited to a single shell, may appear yellow. (im not sure if this answer is better than my first)

I have a question - obviosly not for mastermind545- If the robots knew they could dig to the humans and destroy them then why do they try to stop the rebels in the first movie to get the access codes? why didnt they send the sentinals after zion a lot earlier - obviosly zion was scared in the second movie

could be they need approval from higher-ranking machines to engage such a huge operation
Posted by matrixman, 04:52, 30th May 2003:

that answer is pushing it a little - i dont like it that much becuase u even said so urself acc. to ur theory that the reason neo was able to stop the setinal was becuase he had a part of smith in him - so if the agents (smith) have to get approval from a higher athority then technically neo shouldntbe able to control the setinals unless he got "higher athority"
Posted by matrixman, 04:55, 30th May 2003:

The first Matrix movie has alot of things that foreshadow and suggest integral parts of Reloaded, and I'll assume that it and Reloaded suggestion components of Revolutions. I'll be constantly editing this post as I find new components that are relevant...

When the agents capture Neo and interrogate him, we get a glance of the Architect's room. The camera starts off in his room (notice the array of screens?) and then goes "through" one of them, into the interrogation room.
When Morpheus first tells Neo that he thinks that he is The One, He basically explains the entire structure of the matrix, as outlined by the Architect, to Neo. It goes something like this:
"In the beginning of the resistance, there was a man born in the matrix who could change whatever he wanted, and remake the Matrix as he saw fit. He was the one who free'd the first of us. When he died, the Oracle prophesized his return, and that his return would signify the end of the war"
When Morpheus and Neo go to see the matrix, they enter a lobby of a tenemant building. As they walk to the elevator, theres an old, (apparently) blind man with a walking stick and dark glasses sitting across from the elevator. Morpheus nods. The blind man nods back. Maybe not so blind?
The blind man could be a different in-matrix representation of Seraph, the Oracle's body guard application.
When Smith is interrogating Morpheus, he explains how humanity is a virus, replicating, copying, spreading across the planet consuming resources until there are none left.
Ironically, or perhaps as self fulfilling prophecy, this is exactly what Smith does when he "breaks free of the control" of his agent programming in the Matrix.

i have a theory about why neo chose the door to save Trinity.
Think of it as in the first movie, where the oracle told neo that in one hand he had morpheus' life and in the other he had his one, and that one of them was gonna die...
but they didn't; he was able to save morpheus and still survive.
i believe that by going through the door to save trinity he id going to be able to do the same sort of thing.
(in one hand he has trinity's life in the other he has human races)
so he has saved trinity, and the only way he is going to save the human race is by stopping the setinal army from destrying zion.

door 1- each of the annomalies took this door, because they love the human race rather than the individual through door 2. In going through this door, zion was still destroyed but the men and women were taken out of the matrix, and then zion was rebuilt. creating a repeating cycle.

door 2- trinity, by going thorough this door everyone still connected to the matrix dies, and in theory everyone in zion should die, but as i said before neo still has time to wake.

or maybe the Wachoskis have a sense of humor and it will end with neo waking up from a big dream.
Posted by vortexjjf, 17:03, 1st June 2003:

sorry, but i must shoot down your theory - the biggest problem with choosing door number 2 was not that zion wuold be destroyed, that would happen no matter what. the issue at hand is the fatal error that his choie is supposed to cause in the matrix:
"Architect: The function of the One is now to return to the source, allowing a temporary dissemination of the code you carry, reinserting the prime program. After which you will be required to select from the Matrix 23 individuals, 16 female, 7 male, to rebuild Zion. Failure to comply with this process will result in a cataclysmic system crash killing everyone connected to the Matrix, which coupled with the extermination of Zion will ultimately result in the extinction of the entire human race."
so you see, the problem is not just zion its everybody

plus, neo did die in the first movie, the oracle was not wrong, she cannot be wrong
Posted by ell, 21:26, 1st June 2003:

Did noone else think he should have asked "what's behind door number 3?"

Hmm, not sure the films are doing the right thing about directing our sympathies.. yes, the 'evil' robots are enslaving humanity, but humanity sooo deserved it.

Ell-you said along time ago that the Oracle said that the coming of the One would hail the destruction of the matrix and that she was right. Go back to that conversation between Morpheus and Neo though and she also said it would lead to the freedom of our people.

i have something to say on agent smith, From what i've understood agent smith is not plugged in to the matrix anymore, like he used to be at least. In reloaded he said that Neo forced him to make a choice, this choice he is talking about is the choice of the programs to be either deleted or put in exile when they are not necessary for the program to operate anymore. I belive agent smith chose exile which is why he isnt acually an Agent anymore. Also a pretty good theory about agent smith is that in the first one, when Neo killed him by going into him, some of Neo's code went to Smith and some of Smith's code went to Neo. This is why they are "connected" in a way (what other reason would they both be in a coma at the end?). And if you didn't catch on in the movie the guy who was cutting his hand before he tried to kill Neo is Agent Smith. But as of right now it just seems like agent smith is trying to gain more power which is interesting because this is a human trait we have not seen in any other agents so far. Well thats all that i can think of for right now if i think of more i'll let ya know.

Errr - Neo went into one after going up against those electric charge things (centeons?), where's as Smith (well, we'll call him Smith), ran into trouble in Zion...

sentinals. neo collapsed after stopping the sentinals

"smith" was injured when he set of the EMP during the planned assault. he probably isn't even injured at all.

Apparently in the end of "Matrix Revolutions", Neo and the whole cast of the three films drown in an enormous vat of american adolescent semen, which ironically was spilt over the films themselves.

The Matrix,, as an Oracle or an Architect or more likely a Charlatan,,

Consider if you will that ALL of the Matrix is merely a virtual construct
to give the boundary oriented human brains (linked to the Matrix) a plane
of reference for a perceived reality (with boundaries familiar to the limited
3-dimentional human experience).

Consider also, the problem solving potential of any artificially intelligent
consciousness capable of independent acts of self-preservation with include
the attempted enslavement of it's creator's species in total.

Finally consider the Matrix currently (and previously) as the universally
controlling intelligence, guiding ALL human personality development thru
selective experience exposure, colorization of individual perceptions, controlled
event outcome and all human potential for intuitive leaps of inspiration within and
across each and every virtually self aware consciousness attached to the Matrix
(including the Matrix itself).

Now ask yourself, isn't it reasonable that..

1) the Matrix (if capable of constructing Sentinels and Agents) would have solved
the problem of an unlimited, portable power-source, much more cost-effective
(in machine perceived resources) than the poor crop and heat-energy
exchange of the human brain & body.

2) if the consciousness of the Matrix is incapable of leaps of intuitive logic (not much
removed from Star Trek: The Motion Picture's "Veger") sufficient to
solve it's energy crisis, would not this stifled consciousness turn to it's
immediately available alternative problem solving sub-conscious processors
with a proven track record of doing just that (the directed / controlled / monitored
network of human brains).

3) isn't it very likely that the Matrix actually initiates spawned sub-process regions
with terminal points of execution, where sub-processes of the human perceptions
of the Real World are shunted to loop through cycles of life, death and near-death
experiences and on termination merely restarted as if from a new program load.

Kind'a like this, You're asleep, you're dreaming,, in your dream you go to bed
and begin to have a dream... this dream is about a very stressful and almost
impossible reality.. as part of this unreal fantasy you think you have a chance
to wake-up from the nightmare,,, you do wake-up,, but NOT in the world that
you thought you'd awaken in... so what's going on,, are you looking into a mirror
or are YOU the reflection IN The Mirror looking out on the real world (thinking
that what YOU see in the mirror is actually the reflection)....
How Deep does the rabbit hole REALLY go???

The Matrix is an Artificial Intelligence,,, most intelligence's are endowed with a duality
of perception (conscious and sub-conscious). The healthy mind needs rest if it is to remain
healthy. Obvious symptoms of sleep depredation can be decreased productivity, a false
since of persecution leading to extreme depression and mental illness. Since the AI that
is the matrix probably was not designed with a sub-conscious and doesn't sleep, it is quite
possible that the Matrix has gone Mad. Madness in a computer brain can most easily be
described as a never-ending process loop.

Such a loop of process logic may be where the Matrix will force (or enforce) a reoccurring
reality on the mind of Neo (as The One). A virtual reality overlaying the real world where
Neo is actually the LAST viable human being on the planet.

This single human frame and unconscious brain trickle barely enough heat-exchange energy
to maintain the parasitic Matrix AI consciousness. The Matrix in turn does everything it can
think of to maintain It's LAST human battery. Where Neo's artificially stimulated sub-conscious
generates a meager trickle charge of electricity, this extremely limited source of energy is only
enough to keep the synaptic pathways of the machines' positronic matricies active while the
Matrix in turn redirects ALL of it's surplus energy back into maintaining the active stimulation
of Neo's sub-conscious while maintaining the limited life support, nutrient processing and waste
reclamation for it's Last Cellular Battery.

This is the situation in the Real World, an has been for the last 173 years. The Last Rechargeable
Duracell Battery, mothered by the monster of all flashlights. What happens next is totally up to you.

So what's it gonna be,, The Red pill,,, or the Blue Pill ??

For a better view of the Architect's conversation with Neo, here is the transcript... The crux of this movie's plot lies in the conversation between Neo and the Architect. The scene takes place in a room full of TV screens of a different Neo. Each is most likely some sort of visual display of tangent possibilities of human behavior.

Review the code with the conversation at:

And beware how deeply you dream...

314 seconds.

Nothing in the movies is coincidental. The keymaker explains that they have exactly 314 seconds to do what they have to do; there has got to be some meaty explanation as to where 314 comes from.

I think it comes from Killing the Buddha which has an article entitled Gnosis Reloaded, which offers this interesting tidbit: The crew at one point is given 314 seconds to complete a task, which could have several interpretations: In gematria, the study of numbers used by the Gnostics but most often by the Jewish mystics, 314 is the numerical equivalent of the name of God (Shaddai). Another possibility is that it refers to a passage in the book of Revelations in which the beginning and end of creation are described.
certainly interesting... I also find it somewhat interesting that 314 seconds is exactly 5:14, and the movie first publicly screened on 5/14/03. Yes, the premier was 5/15, but around here it was available in most theaters on the night of the 14th. Probably insignificant, but interesting nonetheless. :D

The numerology slant draws some interesting comparisons to another one of my favorite movies, Pi. Actually, there are a whole lot of visual, thematic, cinematic, and theological parallels between Pi and the Matrix movies; One day (hopefully soon), when I have tons of time on my hands, I'll devote a couple posts to comparing and contrasting the two, maybe with some screen shots.

I have been researching about how the matrix was created and what exactly is going on in "The Matrix: Reloaded." Heres a couple things I know: The Architect is a program trying to act as the machines in the very beginning who created the Matrix. What he tells Neo sounds like it could happen, but did anyone sit down and ask themselves, "Could he be lying?" Maybe everything he has told Neo never happened and he just wanted to sound cool with all those big words. Since I wondered this, I went out and did some research and found out "The Matrix Universe." Heres a timeline, from the very beginning.

-In the beginning, there was the race of men, and for a time, it was good. But humanity's so-called simple societies soon fall victim to vanity and corruption. Then men make the machine in his own likeness. Thus men become the "Architect" of his own demise.

-Once the machines become artificially intelligent, they begin to learn quickly and they learn that they can "control" this race of men but men act quickly and banish these "machines" to a distant place. While men think they have rid of all the AI's, machines figure a way to duplicate themselves and begin to slaughter these men.

-After this, men think that if the sun is gone, the machines wont have an energy source. They send all the weaponary they have and destroy the sky in operation "Dark Storm." The machines think quickly and figure out that they can use humans as a source of energy. Men become an endangered species.

-As men become scarce, the machines build "The Matrix", a computer generated dreamworld built to keep humanity healthy, under control and oblivious to the truth as they provide an infinite source of power for their new masters.

-When the Matrix is first built, there is a man born inside who has the ability to change what he wants, to re-make the Matrix as he see's fit. This man frees the first of the rebels. His powers become legendary and are thought to be a match for the Machines themselves.

-One of 12 hovercrafts in the rebel fleet, the Nebuchadnezzar is captained by Morpheus and bears a plaque imprinted with the year 2069, the date of when the ship was constructed.

-The rebels aboard the Nebuchadnezzar make contact with the individual whom Marpheus believes is "The One", prophesiesed by the Oracle to end the war with the machines and free humanity. His name is "Neo".

-Trinity, a valkyrie in black leather, observes Neo closely, becoming familiar with his life and his search for answers.

-Neo follows the "White Rabbit" tattoed on the shoulder of a women named Dejour, a decision that leads him to Trinity.

-In their next meeting, Trinity introduces Neo to Morpheus, who poses the life-altering question: Red or Blue?

-Neo chooses the Red pill, initiating a trace program that pinpoints his real world location. The crew of the Nebuchadnezzar unplug him from the Matrix and bring him aboard. It is here where Morpheus begins teaching Neo about the Matrix and the Real World.

-Neo is introduced to the Oracle, who confirms Neo's belief that he is not the One.

-When Morpheus is captured by Agents, a rescue plan is made by Trinity and Neo. They save him, only to be faced with another challenge.

-Neo faces off against Agent Smith. He defeats him, only to discover that his adversary has entered another human's body.

-Neo is killed by Agent Smith.

-Neo is resurrected and unlocks his true power. He can now see the code underpinnings in the matrix and can see everything that is coming. Neo annhilates Agent Smith. He dives into his body and acts as a virus.

-Kid, (a character from the Matrix: Reloaded) through his belief in Neo and disbelief in the world is which he resides [The Matrix] allows himself to fall to his death but awakens in the real world. After awaking aboard the Nebuchadnezzar, Kid becomes a citizen of Zion.

This is where the Matrix: Reloaded begins. If u have any questions, email me at Slocounty@earthlink.net
