Well, you get drugs for the baby.
It does depend a lot on where this tattoo is going to go - arm, back, etc...
Posted by
phoenix, 00:29, 3rd June 2003:
i didn't have drugs when i had my baby, completely natural. the tattoo is going just above my wrist by the way.
I smoked so much weed before I got mine she had to tell me to stop laughing so she didn't fuck up the outline. I reccomend this.
I sat for 3 1/2 hours getting mine done, my back was covered in blood but it didnt hurt that much. I suppose it went slightly numb after 15/20 minutes.
No weed for me though :(

She must have gone to a really really bad tattoo artist, silly sod.
I just recently got a tattoo on my lower back and yes, they do hurt. Not as bad as you would think though. the outlining hurts the most, after that you are numb so you won't feel it has much.
Good luck with your tattoo.

hi on saturday i'm having a small love heart tattoo. I dont know where to have it though either on the side of my stomach or the bottom of my back. Which one will hurt the least?
Please help i'm only 16 and have never experienced any sort of serious pain before.
The side of the stomach wont be as sore as the bottom of your back. Bottom of back has less fat so much more pain.
A wee love heart? Why?
The lower back hurts like hell. I sent my picture around to those I had email addresses for. So, if you like post the picture for me, cause I can't.
Hearts are very common chicchick, why not go with something that no one else has? I would give it sometime before you get one and think things through and make sure that it is what you really want. Start with a tempoary one and see how you like it.

I'd just like to ask November Eclectica or anyone else how bad a tattoo on your lower back hurts? I wanna get one really bad, but I am a sucker for pain. I cringe when I have to go get shots, I just can't imagine how much a tattoo will hurt. I've also heard that if you get the tattoo in color it hurts more, is this true? I'm also wonderin' what this bleeding is about, does everyone bleed? Please answer back, anyone cuz I wanna know, Thanx!
My tattoo was done in all black and it hurt very bad. You will bleed but only a little. If you can't take getting shots and have no pain tolerence then don't get a tattoo. I am not sure if color hurts more, but I do know that some people have a reaction to the colored ink.
Before you get a tattoo, I would go and talk with a tattoo artist and get their take on it.
Posted by
beargod, 14:17, 1st July 2003:
Doesn't the blood help the ink to stay?
No, you need staples to keep it on.
hmmm I don't think so beargod. You bleed because they are pressing the ink into your skin.

I am getting my 1st one done on the 10th and I am scared a lil. I am getting it on my shoulder blade. I am getting a portrait of my sister who passed away. he said it will take an hour n a half. I am scared that it will hurt so bad I won't be able to let him finish. What do you think? Compare the pain to something..I've seen it described as scratching where u are badly sunburnt..any other comparisons?

I think that good quality temporary ones are a better idea, coz getting rid of them seems to be a problem, from what I have heard. What about Angelina Jolie's one of Billy Bob on her arm and then she had to erase it? I dont think I would ever have a permanent tattoo myself.
So beargod, you don't like my tattoo?
I would compare it to being stung by a bee but over and over again.
Posted by
beargod, 14:02, 2nd July 2003:
No I never said I don't like your tat, but I don't like tats in general.
I have a massive tattoo on my arse saying "DO NOT SPLIT". Dunno how it got there.
They hurt like fuck. There you are.
Foggie has spoken.
It depends how much of a pussy you are, if you are a big limp-wristed cry-baby then you'll squeal in agony, writhe around so the tat gets screwed up and probably pass out in a big cloud of shame. if you are a man of steel (like me) then you might fall asleep for half an hour of it.

Well... on friday (this is vaguely related) I'm gonna go get my eyebrow pierced... people think it's gonna look good, and so do I. (Will just let it heal if it's shite.)
Any tips? (Not really bothered about pain, just after-care, don't want my eye falling out.)
The place I've decided to go is as nice-looking as a tattoo / piercing place can. £20... decided that's a decent price, I'd be worried if it was 50p and a bag of crisps. Of course I'll watch they use stuff out of packets etc etc...
My girlfriend when I told her: "OH MY GOD YOU'LL LOOK SO GAY!" me: "Well, a bit I guess..." her: "No no, definitely get it done. Gay is good."
hmmmm~
I have devised a mathematical formula to help your decision.
Eyebrow Piercing + Bloke = Twat
Hope this helps.
Posted by
Drago, 18:26, 2nd July 2003:
Hmmmm.... well how about I get my Prince Albert done? that's only a tenner extra.
I'm torn between the idea that £20 is a reasonable amount of beer, or permenantly mutilating myself.
I've never been described as a twat, if having a metal bar / ring through me changes that, I'm pretty sure I'll take it out. :P I've thought it'd be kinda neat for a while, my parents won't care, my school will hate it, one group of friends will hate it ("but you're so pretty!! why!?") and another group'll love it.
I can't really get a non-biased answer, they all have their own social reasons for liking/disliking these things. So I'm sticking with my idea of "Why not? Might as well give it a go." that I had before I told anyone, rather than be influenced.
Then again, now I think about it. I know few non-twats with eyebrow piercings :P (ear, navel, lip, tongue..?)

it'd be a nice point of conversation,
and my school doesn't allow facial piercings on guys.
Doesn't even allow a beard unless there's a religious reason... Muslim or whatever.
We had a protest... "MILLER (head) SAYS: NO BEARD FOR *YOU* WHITE MAN!"
Got us nothing but detention.
All-boys public schools are nothing but sexism, racisim and rampant homosexuality.
Like the football game, where we couldn't agree on teams.. so it was "Whites vs. Blacks" "Darkies vs. Whites", "Klan vs. Ghetto" or "Aryans vs. the Ethnically Challenged".
Good humoured, still worrying.

The heck with that. His g/f needs to accept him for who he is and it's his body. I would like for some guy to try to tell me I couldn't do something when it's my body and my money.
I would never date or have a relationship with somone who didn't accept me for who I am. If they think they can change me, they are wrong. I was with someone for 10 years who tried to do that and I left him. When I look back on it, I can't figure out why I didn't leave him sooner.
So Drago, do whatever makes you happy.

Drago, 14:54, 3rd July 2003:
I pretty much decided, "to heck with it"... that I'm gonna get it done. *Then* asked opinions, "the missus" was actually quite hurt I didn't tell her until this Tuesday, when some of my mates (and my ex-girlfriend) have known I've been thinking about it for 6-8 months.
If I'm getting it done, it needs doing in the summer (as school doesn't allow piercings), if I keep it, it heals and I wear a clear plastic bar. If I don't, I don't have questions about a big red patch on my eyebrow.
If I want to get rid of it, if I decide I don't like it within 2 months or so (the summer holidays) then it'll heal if I take it out within that time. It's only if you have it for an age that it *never* heals, the inside of the hole becomes normal skin.
November Eclectica, she's not trying to change me :/ I'm too stubborn for that. We've both made quite a few allowances though, which is healthy, 'course spending a lot of time around someone is going to change you, she probably has changed me... but they're all welcome and just part of being in a relationship.
Cal knows a lot of this from h8luff.
(Were you reffering to the gay thing or somehow thinking she's forcing me into something? A fetish for effeminate men ain't all that unusual :P)
As I say, I'm 17, if I want to be wise I have to do my time in ignorance and stupidity.

Have any of ya'll ever fainted while gettin' a tattoo? What would happen if ya would? How can ya fall asleep while gettin' a tattoo? All that pain & ya fall asleep, how???
One of mine was done in a single four hour sitting, The only times it really hurt were once when he covered the muscle over the bone at the top of your shoulder and once when he had almost finished and he went to fill in some bits that he had missed, the part he was re-covering had been done for three hours and had started to puff up and swell, that wasn't pleasant. but after about two hours of the tattooing i drifted off for about twenty mins.
