I have written a script that alloows users to logon but I can't get the logon page to change the whole page... it's only changing the frame that the PHP script is in...

you might want to actually explain what you're talkaing about

all i see is a page with login boxes.

what's it supposed to do?
what are the login details?
why on earth do you keep using frames?

Presuming you want the form to load in the main window, and not in the frame itself, then add a target to the form tag. Either target="_top" or target="_parent"

Sorry about that Cal... t'was too early for me...

The page consists of a number of frames. The form being in a frame called mainFrame. The submit button puts the information into a php script that checks that all of the information is there, searches the database and logs the user in if they are registered etc.

I am using a
header("location:\user\userindex.html")
to move the user onto the logged in screen if they have the correct crudentials. The only problem is that the php script is only changing the frame that contains it and not the rest. Is there any way of changing this so that it changed the whole page instead of just the mainFrame?

I am only using frames cause I don't know any better and my html lecturers were Microsoft Junkies and only taught us them... They don't even know any PHP so you guys are the only ones I can ask apart from searching the web...

right - ok. you've not really made a login system, you're just redirecting to a "logged in" page if the details were correct?

and the "logged in" page is a frameset document that you want loaded over the old frameset?

if that's the case, you need to add target="_top" into the form tag and redirect to the non logged-in frameset when they fail.

but you shouldn't really be using frames at all here - there's no reason to
