So what are you all doing?
Posted by Rosie, 11:26, 10th June 2003:

I'm bored at work again. Its really dead today. I think they should close the office so that i can go home - or make me boss so that i have something to do.

Nov: Did you get your letter?

did anyone see that thing about dale winton and nell the model?? Was it all bullshit?
Posted by jlittle, 11:31, 10th June 2003:

they are actually married, but it's a complete PR stunt - he was on Radio1 last night and said his inspiration was the Celebrity Dating game type shows, but he wanted to do one that was actually real (how a gay bloke getting married to a fit model is real, i dunno!)!
Posted by Lu, 11:32, 10th June 2003:

I'm also bored at home.

I saw/read about that. Actually, I drove past Penny Hill Park and noticed something going on. It wasn't a "real" wedding. It was filmed for a programme for the BBC and whilst had all the trimmings of a real wedding, would have been needed to be sealed by signing a legally binding document at the registry office (which they didn't).
Posted by beargod, 11:39, 10th June 2003:

I have no idea what you are talking about, did they have a honeymoon?
Posted by Rosie, 11:41, 10th June 2003:

I think thats awful! Its taking the piss out of getting married. Why would anyone want to PRETEND to get married? That tv programme was a load of bullshit and it rips the piss out of getting married. Its actually made me really cross. Some things are sacred. Whats nxt ffs?
Posted by chandler, 11:46, 10th June 2003:

"Some things are sacred. Whats nxt ffs?"

maybe dale winton reinacting the crucifiction of christ?
i'd pay money to watch that one.
Posted by jlittle, 11:54, 10th June 2003:

err - what's wrong with ripping the piss out of getting married?
Posted by arsepuppy, 11:54, 10th June 2003:

It's not nice.
Posted by Rosie, 11:56, 10th June 2003:

Its a disgrace. And apart from anything else.........Who gives a flying f**k? I couldn't care less about them two! Dale was a laugh when he was doing Supermarket Sweep, but i was only very slightly interested in that tv programme as I was out of work, stoned and the tv remote was on the coffee table and I couldn't be bothered to move.
Posted by arsepuppy, 11:58, 10th June 2003:

His knee and elbow joints seem more rigid now. Back then they were all loose and wobbly (insert joke here). He was like a bloody windmill made of jelly.
Posted by jlittle, 12:01, 10th June 2003:

I don't see a problem with it personally. Don't think that ripping the piss out of weddings is a disgrace anyhow.
Posted by Rosie, 12:03, 10th June 2003:

Well, its no wonder theres people getting married at the top of a hat. Getting married is meant to be something special and, for me anyway- showing that you have commitment to your partner in front of God and your friends/family. Paying some gay guy and model to get married for a tv show is a disgrace.

:(
Posted by jlittle, 12:07, 10th June 2003:

What's it got to do with God? You only have to be religious if you getting married in a church! Getting married to me is showing the commitment and love that you have for your PARTNER to your PARTNER, and to share this with friends and family.
Posted by Rosie, 12:11, 10th June 2003:

i personally believe in God and wouldn't feel right getting married in a registry office. I'm not saying its wrong or anything, but thats just my opinion and the way I want to get married - one day. All i'm saying is that I think its wrong to make a pretend wedding and put it on tv for a laugh.

Plus i hate that model bitch - i want to stamp on her head!
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:12, 10th June 2003:

Yay Rosie!
Posted by beargod, 12:17, 10th June 2003:

what about if you get married to a person of a different religion to you rosie and they force you to get married by view of their god and not yours, would that be the same? in a synagogue instead of a church
Posted by Rach, 12:17, 10th June 2003:

The only good thing about that wedding was they played Mercury Rev - The Dark Is Rising when she walked down the isle \o/ (thats a special song to me)
Posted by Rosie, 12:21, 10th June 2003:

I'm not disputing which God you need to get married in front of beargod. And if they are FORCING you to get married in a place you would rather not be in, then surely you should be questioning the person you are getting married to?

Anyway - I'm not discussing any more religous things here!
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:23, 10th June 2003:

It's a bit like getting married in British Home Stores. I couldn't bear that.
Posted by beargod, 12:25, 10th June 2003:

oh ok, just wondering, i didn't mean forcing you forcing you just thinking it best to go with that religion.

anyway I think there should be a law against missionaries
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:26, 10th June 2003:

why?
Posted by Rosie, 12:27, 10th June 2003:

law againest missionaries......??????
Posted by beargod, 12:28, 10th June 2003:

cos they spread what they think should be rather then leaving those peoples faiths alone
Posted by Rosie, 12:29, 10th June 2003:

ummmm......

AP: BHS is a shithole - i ain't getting married no where near that place.
Posted by jlittle, 12:31, 10th June 2003:

I almost agree with beargod, however missionaries do some great things around the world, help suffering, etc. I just wish they would do it in the name of humanity, not god.
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:32, 10th June 2003:

BG, it's your favourite noise!

*thud*

What about the Yanami (sp?) tribe in the Amazon? They've lived the same way for thousands of years. Sadly this involves looting the villages of nearby settlements, raping the women and children and generally not being nice. Don't remember that knob Sting mentioning that. Missionaries would be helpful there if they preached love and compassion, and taught of an effective moral framework (unless they're of the Calvinistic / "Hellfire and Brimstone" lot, which can give it a bad name)
Posted by beargod, 12:37, 10th June 2003:

they do do alot of good, but i think going around the world to change everyones religion to cristianity is just stupid, thats the main reason why I said it
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:40, 10th June 2003:

"they do do alot of good"

Then why ban them???
Posted by Rosie, 12:40, 10th June 2003:

I will half agree with you BG. I think religion and faith is a very personal thing. When I get ppl come up to me in the high street spouting off about Latter Day Saints then I get cross - coz I don't want to discuss my faith in the middle of the town centre outside the bloody Bakers Oven!
Posted by jlittle, 12:42, 10th June 2003:

Why is it a personal thing Rosie - Surely if you are a believer of God you should be telling the world about him - not hiding from speaking out about your religion?
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:43, 10th June 2003:

"Latter Day Saints"

Those are JW's aren't they? Nutters, total nutters they are.
Posted by beargod, 12:45, 10th June 2003:

I was sitting waiting for my bus in victoria and those bastards came up to me and just talked to me for way too long, I fell asleep
Posted by arsepuppy, 12:49, 10th June 2003:

"Bastards" is a bit harsh.
Posted by chandler, 12:50, 10th June 2003:

"not hiding from speaking out about your religion?"

religion is a personal thing. faith can be a very private thing. just cos someone believes in god doesnt mean they go round knocking on doors telling people. Rosies beliefs are her business.
Posted by Rosie, 12:53, 10th June 2003:

jlittle: Why should i be telling the world about Him? I don't feel the need. I'm certainly not hiding from speaking about what I believe in, i just don't think its appropriate to be followed in the high street being questioned about my faith. If I was sitting with some friends and talking about God, as I am doing with you, then thats cool....

I don't know. Lets change the subject, eh? I missed Hollyoakes at the weekend can anyone give me a brief summary of what I missed?
Posted by beargod, 12:53, 10th June 2003:

I said bastards cos I couldn't care less what they say and they are annoying

I think no-one should push their religion on anyone else cos that is how alot of wars were started, plus it is just not nice
Posted by Rosie, 12:53, 10th June 2003:

Cheers Chay!

So did Toby's mum fuck him as a kid or something? I've missed a lot recently.
Posted by Sul, 13:06, 10th June 2003:

no, she just wasnt there for him or something. I think theres a little too much borderline-incest in the soaps of late anyway. Nothing can beat the Brooky one a few years back.

Rosie: Who says Im going outisde? I may not even open the curtains.

Russell Grant shops at my local Kwiks. My mum always bumps into him. She hates him. "That fat sod was buying fags again" she'll say.

My mate is called Aidan. Damn good singer. He used to be in Grange Hill too. He's one of those gits that seems blessed. He is currently spending his life snowboarding in argentina. Sod.

I've met half of the Stone Roses. One of them (King Monkey) twice.
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:11, 10th June 2003:

My ex girlfriend's best mate used to write a lot of Jewel's songs. He also used to shag her (Jewel, not my ex). She never let me forget that, even during the "monkey dance". It was "Steve Poltz this", and "Steve Poltz that". Not being a Jewel fan, I failed to give a shit.

Another friend of hers was the cousin of Tony off East 17. His dad knew Lemmy. Which is more interesting.
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:12, 10th June 2003:

I'll shut up now. I've got loads of these stories but we don't want to turn this into Popbitch, do we?

Me and my mate taught Lunchbox Linford how to use a fruit machine. I can also say that he's about 100 feet tall, and SHIT at darts. It would seem nobody told him you have to aim for the *top* of the board.
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:26, 10th June 2003:

My flatmate wins though....

Last week he bumped into Pete Waterman and Nicole Appleton at Didcot Station. We guessed that Pete must be there to see the cousin of one of our drinking buddies. This person has the dubious claim to fame of writing songs for the likes of Victoria Beckham and Atomic Kitten. Hmm.

AP, when you say *very* do you actually mean they were playing hide the sausage?
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:38, 10th June 2003:

Possibly. One time during the monkey dance, she was telling me about the time she saw his knob and how big it supposedly was. And I wonder why we're not together anymore... ;)

arsepuppy, 12:48 05 February 2003:
My dad once found Princess Margaret and Mick Jagger lying pissed on the pavement outside our local grocery store back in the 60's. This was back in the days of the Stones' dealings with local junkie Lord Harlech, who used to finance many of their binges and did some PR for them to a degree. Dunno if that counts as royal aggravation per se.
