I got my GP32 this morning. But I have a dilemma. Wait til I get home to start playing. Or risk getting a bollocking for setting it up on my work PC.
There's lots of managment milling around today too.
It doesnt seem like a good idea. But then I REALLY want to play.
Posted by
jlittle, 10:49, 19th June 2003:

Posted by
cal, 10:56, 19th June 2003:

Another amazing emulator is that of the Lucas Arts SCUMMV engine which allows the GP32 to run all the classic adventure games such as the monkey island series, Indiana Jones series, Day of the tentacle, the dig, etc. etc. and yes, it includes the speech sound support (how could you play day of the tentacle without it :)!
Man, im wetting my pants thinking about this :P
Posted by
beargod, 12:41, 19th June 2003:
I just played day of the tentacle the other day, now that is a brilliant game :)

Ok. I waited. It was hard, but I waited and oh what beauty the machine holds. The Doom port is spectacular and the spectrum emulator runs great! (sound is a little iffy)
I spent my train journey in this morning playing Trapdoor and Dizzy.
Oh the joy :D
Had some trouble getting any of the free movie players to work so might fork out £3 for the commercial one (moviepark).

You have no idea. I'm gonna whip it out (the GP32 that is) in the pub tonight and watch all the women come-a flocking. I'll be like Fonzie only I wont have to click. I just pull out my cock extension GP32 and BAM! I'm getting laid in the toilets.... err... with a ladie.
..whilst playing Trapdoor!
Posted by
Sul, 10:12, 20th June 2003:
Well lets face it, it'll be a the only reason she's sleeping with me.
"Oh Sul, open the trapdoor, you turn me on so much when you go against the rules"
"I dont know... the song says there's something down there"
"Live dangerously, Sul. Go on!"
"Ok, just for you baby, here goes..."
*opens trapdoor*
"...argh loads of worms have comes out"
"Quick! Gather them up and put them in that tin! Go on Sul you havnt got much time. While you do that I'll suck you off"
mmmmm

Posted by
Sul, 10:57, 20th June 2003:
not on the GP32.
"kill sam"
ahhh the memories
Don't try to "kill Gandalf" ffs
Posted by
jlittle, 07:39, 23rd June 2003:
I've been playing it a bit - not 100% certain on it yet tbh - it's great playing donkey kong country on the snes emulator, however it doesn't seem to save my game - maybe it's me doing something wrong!
Also - i want to play DOTT, but it's monster file is over 200mb - so you need a pretty big card to play it (i only got a 128mb one), but overall, once I work out if you can save things, it's pretty impressive.
Just need to find a decent roms site now!
Posted by
Sul, 09:56, 23rd June 2003:
What snes emu you using? Perhaps saving's not built into it yet. Maybe you should write it in ;)
The gameboy one works cool too but what's really giving me a raging hardon at the moment is the master system/game gear emulator. It works really well and plays at full speed.
And I havent stolen 1 game yet!!!
I'll shut up now as this will start to get annoying.
Posted by
jlittle, 10:29, 23rd June 2003:
we should keep this thread as an overall talk on gp32's, i guess we could use email instead though!
Have you updated your firmware yet?
faq.gp32emu.com/ has a good guide on how to do it, so im gonna give it a go later (just need to buy some new batteries just incase!) I don't like the built in GUI, so would rather change to Windup on startup, and having an addressbook built it is pretty handy.
I also found out that you can encode your monster.sco fie into a different format, so you can get them to fit onto the 128mb smart cards, which is cool - want to try and get a copy of Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis - i used to love that game and will be good fun playing it on a handheld!

Yep, you can "kill Gloin" though, just don't try to kill Gandalf.
Posted by
Sul, 17:32, 23rd June 2003:
I ROCK!
You are in a gloomy empty land with dreary hills ahead
To the west there is the round green door
Visible exits are: east north northeast
You see:
Thorin
Thorin waits
+KILL THORIN
You attack Thorin.
But the effort is wasted. His defense is too strong
Thorin attacks you.
With one well placed blow Thorin cleaves your skull.
You are dead
You have mastered 2.5% of this adventure.
Good work, now go for Gandalf.
Posted by
beargod, 19:27, 23rd June 2003:

I use my PC at work with my GP32... just gotta make sure no one is looking!!!
I have never been into computer games or video games. I just can't sit in front of a computer that long. I enjoy being outside to much.
I don't watched much TV either. If it is a movie, then I will watch it or listen to music.
I'm just posting to post, so don't mind me.
