Mighty cal is showing the kids who's boss by way of a careful vetting process. the way it works is they post begging messages in the intro forums, we laugh at them for a bit and then tell them to fuck off. its much fun (from this side of the divide)

It does give Cal a lot of power. But I guess you expect that when posting on a website that calls itself I AM CAL. In many ways, posting here makes a claim to be Cal.

But hey, I don't think it's a problem. Unless Cal starts kicking people out for disagreeing with him. Which I don't imagine would happen. Would make for quite a funny website if he did, though..

its probably just an oversite FL. Can you imagine having to go through every member manually and flag them for approval? He's bound to miss one or two

Trouble with this way, we get lots of intro threads jumping up everywhere from people wanting to annoy us and they only have to do it on the intro threads

beargod - at some point i'll remove intro threads from the recent topics list, except for moderators. or maybe make it an option to show them (hide by default)

the problem with that cal Is that they need to talk to someone, to see if they are annoying people. so we need to see if they post aswell :S

not really - you can usually tell from a single post whether to let someone in. and i can always let them back out if we make a mistake :)
