"Victor Menendez, 22:16 14 July 2003 :

you haven't met but you've been a couple for a couple of weeks and he loves you very much?"

That comment got me thinking, which do people think is better and more enduring? Fast love or slow, gradual love?

Well George Michael is looking for Fast love.

The Pointer Sisters prefer a lover with a slow hand.

Who knows eh?

*makes some joke about fast love in toilets. everyone laughs*

ha ha ha

I like to know my lady, So I would go with slow love

Depends on the people involved I guess.

I've never really got why in American films/sit-coms it's always such a big deal for the man to say that he loves the woman - like they have been together a few years and he hasn't said it yet. I quite often told the girl that I was dating that I loved her, not to get them into bed, but because I did love them in a way... maybe not as much as true love, but still love.

So to finish, I love you all :)

*laughs at Cals joke and tries very hard not to be soppy and annoying and bump up our thread for no reason -sigh- :D *

Awe - we love you to jlittle.

I like slow love better. I want it to be full of passion and i want to look at that person and be able to say that I could spend the rest of my life with them.

*looks around for mr right* *damn ... none to be found* *sigh*

agreed.

You got it exactly there jlittle, i dunno why its so difficult in sitcoms, i am a slow love person, but have told a few girlfriends i love them.

The other one that annoys me is in things like Neighbours, why is it such a big deal when people first kiss? Its always building up for months and then they kiss and tell their mates and its a huge thing....stupid if you ask me.
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:45, 15th July 2003:

What's the point in saying it if you don't mean it???
Posted by arsepuppy, 16:46, 15th July 2003:

But there is a difference between "loving someone" and "being in love with someone", of course
Posted by cruelemort, 17:12, 15th July 2003:

Precisely, you can love someone without them being "the one"
Posted by cruelemort, 17:17, 15th July 2003:

For example, i "love" my girlfriend, but i am "in love" with my computer :)
Posted by coolcat88, 17:39, 15th July 2003:

okay... i think fast love can be good, think about"love at first sight" isn't that fast love? But on the other hand I do agree that it's better to gradualy get to know someone and then start to love them, and then I think you're more likely to be sure that it's not popcorn love...

whats that Blade Runner quote. "A light that burns twice as bright burns twice as fast" thats always been my perception of the whole love thang.

I'm more of a cold dispassionate new-man anyway. Love muddies the whole thing up too much.
Posted by November Eclectica, 18:35, 15th July 2003:

I rather someone show me they love me then tell me all the time. The word "love" is very misused.

but what happens when you are in a realtionship where you show your love but it is rarely if ever given back and then you meet someone special?
Posted by arsepuppy, 14:21, 17th July 2003:

Testify, brah. I've been there.

Although the "other special person" can be a case of "grass is greener on the other side", so be careful.
