First things first. Some cheese sucks. This includes most generic chedders, you know the type the horrible nasty orange stuff sold in giant slabs in the supermarket. This type of cheese makes me mad. Also included in this catagory is most varities of 'fun cheese' you know like Dairylee and Cheesestrings (what a god awful invention they are). So now we know that cheese is not infalible (i know i was shocked too).
If had to pick one cheese from earth to represent cheese at the cheese olympics in cheese city on the planet cheese in the cheesiest section of the cheese nebula I wouldn't be able to do it. Thats how much i like most cheeses. However, The Contenders would be:
1) Roquefort - First time i had this my taste buds nearly packed their bags and moved to Blandsville, Delaware. It's salty and creamy and riddled with a funky mould that just kicked my cheese boundaries into touch. Wonderful wonderful stuff.
2) Parmegano Reggiano - Smells like an old pair of shoes but tastes like a party in your mouth where all the guests brought something tasty and are looking kinda hot. Put it on pasta and put it in pasta. One of my favourite desserts ever is big slices of Parmesan on tasty crackers.
3) Beaufort - The lucky French cows who make this are taken from the lower pastures up into the high mountain glens for 5 months in the year. This whole time a farmer/cheesemaker lives a solitary existence milking them for their sweet sweet milky goodness and turning it into a stunning cheese. If i was a cow I'd want to be one of these cows.
4) Cotswold With Chives - To much of makes me feel queasy cause it's so damn rich but a big wedge of this with some nice bread and a hearty ale or lambic beer makes me want to say things like 'oo-arrr' and 'harvest'.
5) Feta - Feta was invented by Plato in 467bc when he picked up a ewe and shook it to give an example of his ground breaking but ultimately flawed 'ewes can fly when shaken' theory. It's creamier than licking an udder and goes well with big fat olives. Out of democracy and feta I think you know which gets my vote.
Thats the five front runners although a nice talaggio, comte or big gooey wedge of gorgonzola peck could replace any one of them.
Cheese is great.

I don't like cheese
1) Gorgonzola - Lovely creamy cheese with spicy streaks of mould. Oh yeah!!
2) Brie - The queen of Cheeses. Excellent!
i love cheese (not the dick variety)
A good Brie is indeed fantastic Foghorn.
Man cheese is good. Lets not forget Stilton either! A good stilton is like a good woman; strong, thick pronounced blue veins, comes in a small pot and you need a differant one for every port. Okay so it's not like a good woman at all, it's nicer spread on bread though.
Also partial to a good camembert...hmm, roast in oven then dip new potatoes in..oh yeah!
And I enjoy a Chevre, but i think that is goats cheese.
Hell yeah! mmmmmmmmmmm . I like it baked and the gooey goodness scooped onto fresh white crusty bread and then dunked in chili sauce. man i want some cheese.
Dunked in chilli sauce..thats a new one for me..must try it.

I like garlic, stick enough garlic in the cheese, I may like it
Oh Foggie you gotta try this then:
Brie
Rasberry Jelly
Crackers
Place Brie in a glass bowl, bake in oven on 150 until it starts melting, place Rasberry Jelly or Jam on top and place back in for 10 mins, take out of oven and eat with crackers.

beargod, 17:18, 28th July 2003:
I was gonna say, raspberry jelly on crackers, thats disgusting, you eat jelly with ice cream, speak english and call it jam
There is such a thing as Jelly and Jam.
Posted by
beargod, 17:24, 28th July 2003:
Yes, Jelly in English is Gelotine, as it should be and Jam in English is Jam like the stuff you put on toast

Posted by
beargod, 11:39, 29th July 2003:

how can you spell Tyre incorrectly, but get manufacturer correct?
Posted by
beargod, 11:50, 29th July 2003:
cos there are two different spellings meaning two different things of tyre, but there is only one spelling of manufacturer, I usually can spell, Its just when I hit the wrong key on the keyboard, miss a key on the keyboard or get two words that are spelt different but sound the same, and may mean different things
"Tire" is how the Septics spell it, innit.
BG: Why not just take a bit more time when typing??

you don't have any kind of test stratergy that doesn't involve yourself? that's a worrying way to work. you write your own regression tests then, i assume?

I don't write any tests, we have nothing set up. I am the only programmer here, which is worrying.
This software is not for sale and is only used within the company and if anyone gets any problems with it they just need to ask me, and I will see what is wrong and attemt to fix it
