From the BBC:

'RUGBY IS TOO VIOLENT'

Boxer Chris Eubank has tried to ban his teenage son from playing rugby - because he thinks the sport is too violent.

The former world champion believes a rugby pitch is far more dangerous than a boxing ring.

And he has tried to bar 13-year-old Christopher from playing the game at school in case he gets hurt.

"Rugby ith the motht vicious thport on God'th earth," Eubank said. "I don't want my children playing it.

"Whenever I attend the BBC thports Perthonality of the Year award the England rugby team are there and they alwayth look more beaten up and cut up than I ever was in my fightth."

Eubank's wife Karron has insisted Christopher be allowed to play the same sports as his schoolmates.

But the boxer said: "It'th tho dangerouth, one day my thon could come home with a broken jaw and I don't want that.

"It's a horrific thport. I would much rather he played thomething gentle, like football or cricket."

The eccentric star and his family are set to star in a new reality TV series, At Home With The Eubanks.

Bosses at Five hope Eubank's bizarre behaviour will make the show a ratings rival to Channel 4's The Osbournes

"I guess he wants his son to be a wuss."

says the girl from the country where they dress up in masses of padding with helmets when they play "rugby" to stop themselves getting hurt.

;)

Coming from the bloke who has probably never played rugby before

have done, think it's a dull and boring. all i remember is that i was hurt more playing rugby at school than any other sport, so thats why i hate it. plus i took offence to Nov implying that boys who don't like sport/aren't good at sport/dont play violent games are in some way less than a real man. but then i guess she might have done a survey of the last 200 men and found that to be the case so i shall give her the benefit of the doubt. the end :)

/word brah

Rugby's a shit elitist sport. Also, it's possibly more homoerotic than that Jean Claude Van Damme film last night. Which was strangely on Channel 4.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that I actually like Chris Eubank (I'm a bit of a boxing fan, btw). Before the Watson fight he was a fucking machine in the ring (see the Eubank/Benn fights) and he also added a bit of personality and ludicrous pomposity into what had then become a serious and humourless sport.

which film was that? and yes rugby is shite, but i didnt want to go too overboard cos i thought i'd get beaten up by all the sports fans on here. :)

Sul you may be "nails", just a shame it's 3cm long bright red false nails, hands and feet

The film had Dennis Rodman in it and was called "Double Team", or as someone I know put it (in a rather un-PC way) "Black Poof/White Poof".

Ive seen it and that's a fair description.
