Ahem. Hasn't anyone else bought some new music recently?!?!
Posted by arsepuppy, 14:51, 18th August 2003:

For the first time in ages, I haven't.

I bought the new SFA one recently, and I picked up "Violator" by Depeche Mode and "Da Capo" by Love in the HMV Sale. Both good purchases, although contrary to the opinion of many, I think "Da Capo" is possibly Love's weakest album.

Must admit I haven't bought as much as I have compared to this time last year. I'm not sure whether it's down to lack of quality or lack of money. Probably a little of both I suspect.

argh. people with jobs who like music are taking over the world.

went into town yesterday and happened into sanity (the shop, not necessarily the state). went to lunch today and walked through hmv. hence cds. mamas and the papas where on in ed's diner. the rest are new(ish) releases. it all makes sense.

radiohead: go to sleep (cd 1&2)

Urgh.

This is taken from the HMV website:

"From the acoustic opening the song quickly builds into a Bends-esque trauma of broken chords and stinging guitar stabs. Music to take you to another place".

Clearly, the reviewer is tone deaf.

Interesting words from a cloth-eared trance fan :/

"Clearly, the reviewer is tone deaf."

well, let's deconstuct and see that your being annoying on purpose

"From the acoustic opening" - yes, it has one. i'm not deaf
"the song quickly builds into a Bends-esque" - yes, it does
"trauma of broken chords" - i can hear that
"and stinging guitar stabs." - those too. he's not deaf. have you heard the track

"Music to take you to another place" - this is obviously subjective. but how does this make him tone deaf?

I'm hardly being annoying - I'm just expressing an opinion, Cal. Sheesh! I'm hardly here anyway (except when I have a day or two off work) but if I annoy you and everyone else that much then please just ban me.

I don't have any extra money to buy new music with. If someone would like to burn me a CD of some new music I would be thankful forever.

Violator's an awesome album. And it's taken me this long to get a non-dodgy copy of it... oh well.
