For anyone hit in the current virus epedemics, you can use NA stinger (free) to clean your machine and patch the holes in WINS:

It doesn't have one for the Blaster virus yet.

uk.news.yahoo.com/030819/80/e6g8u.html this is cool, but not neciserally good

you didnt hear this from me, but a certain large IT company didnt patch their clients network in time and the whole of their head office campus was fucked today. Hurrah!
Posted by Sul, 19:50, 19th August 2003:

And as a result Ive been bored shitless. But I did pen a scene from my new musical "Trampology".

Man, when will they ever learn that doing nothing, or doing it too late, just isn't good enough anymore? :S

...must...resist...temptation..to..nitpick.."virii"...
Posted by Sul, 22:11, 19th August 2003:

I dont really get this. My English isnt exactly great but dictionary.reference.com/search?q=virus&...* says the plural of virus is viruses. Yet people always say Virii (is that the right spelling?). So my English pop-pickers, what is actually the correct term?
Posted by Redmaiden, 22:30, 19th August 2003:

dunno but graffiti is plural so the singular of graffiti is graffito
Posted by cal, 07:48, 20th August 2003:

a certain large media company also failed to patch their servers in time, leading to a down time of one day and counting.
Posted by beargod, 08:45, 20th August 2003:

Most of my computers are 98 so only 2 computers were affected
Posted by arsepuppy, 08:46, 20th August 2003:

Sul! Mrs Bumdog loved the pen poem you sent her! But where was the pen??
Posted by ell, 22:02, 20th August 2003:

Sul: It's not a word. "virii" technically should be the plural of "virus", but the Romans decided not to make it so, because the pronunciation would be indistinguishable from the plural of "man" ("viri").

ell: hmmm.... there's has to be some sort of irony there....

My system went down for most of the day yesterday. I've got a shit load of work to do today now.

Posted by Sul, 12:21, 21st August 2003:

Hurrah! 2.5 days of downtime for me and now I have email and internet back. The only things I REALLY need at work.

AP: The pen was in the envelope. I distinctly remember putting it in there. :/

Just thought I'd post that scene from "Trampology". Wont be to everyones tastes but then, what is?

EXT: Waterloo train station - Night

The Irish and English tramps are warming themselves by a
fire, about 20 in all. Over the wall come the silhouettes
of two men. Fucking backpackers no less. Australian
backpackers.

AUSSIE NO 1
(Drunk Australian Accent)
You don't wanna be drinking none of those brews, mates.

MIKE
(Angry Drunk Scouser Accent)
And why the fuck not, like? You big fucking poof!

AUSSIE NO 2
(Drunk Australia Accent)
Because our Fosters is so much nicer.

SHAMUS
(Angry Drunk Irish Accent)
Like fuck it is. Fosters tastes like Kangaroo piss.

AUSSIE NO 2
(Drunk Australian Accent)
Its better than that shite you're drinking, sport.

MIKE
(Angry Drunk Scouser Accent)
You two don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

MIKE stands up and grabs a crate that was put to the side
ready for burning. He stands on it and launches into a
song addressing his fellow hobos.

MIKE - In song

Fosters. It tastes like wee
Fosters. Not good enough for me
Fosters. I wouldn't recommend it
Fosters. But I would suggest they send it
Back to where it came from

Those bloody Aussies
Brought Fosters to our pubs

SHAMUS - In song

Now what can we do for revenge?

MIKE - In song

We shall feed them to lion cubs
For their rank tasting bitch piss
Is utter, complete shite
And if I met the brewers
I'd make sure it was at night

MIKE & SHAMUS - In song

So I could smash their antipodean faces in.

As MIKE and SHAMUS bring the song to a close, the rest of
the tramps descend upon the Aussies. We see fear in their
eyes. They try to escape but are stopped by the tramps.
They last about 2 minutes in the drunken brawl that
follows. Poor chaps.

Posted by reitsma, 00:17, 22nd August 2003:

ell: who you callin' a lady?

sul: you DO realise, NO-ONE in australia drinks fosters. no one likes it, no one buys it. that's why it's all exported.

Maybe so, but its not like we drink it either.
Posted by Sul, 09:36, 22nd August 2003:

Yeah I know. I've heard that it tastes even worse over in Oz too. I'm forever hearing of VB, Crown and Tooeys (sp?) as the better of the Aussie bunch. Having tasted VB and Crown Id have to say that I'm less than impressed.
