I figured out what gateway to use to get here on my phone... but although it lets me login, my logged-in status doesn't "stick", so I can't post, because of Cal's stupid security system.

Cal, what do i have to do for you to fix the b***** thing?

ana - that will be because the cookies aren't sticking. the cookies are domain specific and you're acessing via a different domain i guess. let me set something up...

right. go here on your phone: www.iamcal.com/env.php

and tell me if any of the lines contain the name of the gateway you're using. if they do, show me the line you get.

Well...

I tried that address cal, but the text wouldn't wrap, so it was about as much use as swiss cheese...

HOWEVER, I checked gemal.dk's Browser Spy with my phone, and got the following:

HTTP_VIA=Nokia Activ Server 2.1 (build 3411A)
HTTP_X_NETWORK_INFO=UDP, 193.113.235.174, security=0


Is that any good?

try again (i've chnaged the page now)

the interesting part will probably be "HTTP_USER_AGENT". if i can work out a way of isolating your device, then i can handle cookies differently for it.

There should be a load of other stuff on the end of that, but for some reason I don't quite comprehend, that's all that that header contains when I use any gateway other than o2.

ok - it should no longer add the domain/path stuff to your cookies - try logging in again

Still not working.

Looking at that box on the left of the page, what happens is:

*I login, and get

*Then when I follow a link away from the "your account" page to a post, it returns to:

Your Account
You are not logged in.
