My boss is currently phoning a number he got from a pop-up which told him he's won a grand.

This tells you all you need to know about my department.

Posted by Rosie, 12:50, 9th September 2003:

Thats not true. Its always worth a try.

I phoned some readers digest thingy and I got 2 watches sent to me FOC.

Alright, they were shit - but still they were free.

And I didn't have to buy any books.
Posted by beargod, 13:02, 9th September 2003:

Yeah but you don't understand, That was readers digest, this is online Pop-ups
Posted by ilovebeerme, 13:02, 9th September 2003:

Can you design a pop up that offers $5000 if he eats his ass with a spoon on web cam? That would liven up the office a bit.
Posted by Victor Menendez, 13:11, 9th September 2003:

probably not.
Posted by ilovebeerme, 14:03, 9th September 2003:

And if pop-ups aren't your thing, I highly recommend the Google Toolbar - complete with pop-up blocker: toolbar.google.com :)
Posted by beargod, 14:55, 9th September 2003:

Or just get a decent browser that blocks it automatically anyway :)

Some of you may remember that I mentioned I'd been made redundant a couple of weeks ago. I mentioned it on my blog and a couple of other places too. Since then, I've been inundated with offers to make an income from home. MLMs in other words.

It really does annoy me that there are people that stupid out there. Especially the ones that send messages to unemployed people saying things like "only £2000 to sign up!" W*nkers.
Posted by friday, 06:28, 10th September 2003:

I know what you mean emp. These sites that go on and on about how you can earn so much and here are testimonials from all the people who got rich, and now they are sitting in the carribean etc, its really annoying. Especially when all they want to sell is some get rich quick ebook, which then you are expected to sell on again to other gullible people. I like the idea of working as a team to make income on the net, but I cannot find anything 'out there' that I can believe in.

Erm, it's Multi Level Marketing.

One guy sell a product to 10 people. Those ten people then sell the product to another 10 people each. Those 100 people sell the product to 10 people each.

The guy that's rich and sitting on a beach in the Med is the first guy. There's only so much profit you can make or poor quality materials. Unless you find some really stupid people. I mean really stupid.
