Looking for a bit of advice, especially from someone in the industry, or who knows how it works.

A few months back, I backed into a skip in my car, just a tap, but it clipped the corner and my whole boot needs to be replaced, rather than put it thought my insurance and loose my no claims, I decided to pay for the repairs myself - I havn't had it fixed yet, but yesterday I managed to get again back into something (I really need one of those beepy things that tell you when you are getting close!), this time it was a car in a car park, with someone in it.

The people inside were old gits and I wouldn't even bother asking them if they would let me pay for it rather than to go though the insurance company, so I gave them my details, etc.

Anyhow - my question is - I know that they are gonna go though the insurance company, so should I say the damage to the boot was done though this - it's quite ovious from looking at both cars that it wasnt, as they only have a little bump - but if i'm gonna loose my no claims anyhow, I'd rather get the damage to my boot fixed aswell.

Alternativly - as I have up to 3 months to make a claim which hasn't yet passed, is it worth telling the isurance company that I had an accident a few months ago, and that this has added to the damage, however I don't know how much? Do you think this will mean that it could all go though on one claim?

Well I have no idea, I just wantedto make sure, however I do know that the more you claim the more the insurance will go up when you next get it

I got a private message on another board that I posted this on from someone who I know, is a mechanic.

What do you think?

Give me a ring on xxx xxxx xxxx. I have a bodyshop I use up in your area, I assume manchester, who would ensure the old damage is included. The name is Xxx.

it's not what you know, it's who you know

Shouldn't that be, "Its not what you know, its who you sleep with!"?

No, stop being silly.

In that case, give him a ring and see what he's got to say.

some insurance companies insist you get your repairs done but one of their list of registered fixing people. just to warn you.

Or if you want to be really paranoid it coud be a fraud investigator for insurance companies checking on shady goings on.

But I would just claim it happened at the same time, it would be vertually impossible to state otherwise if the damage is in the same area.

You can still pay for the damage for the oldies car
