This is a read-only copy. The forum ran on iamcal.com from 2000 until its database was lost in 2016, and this topic was rebuilt from copies saved by the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. Some replies may be missing.

All of my articles are now available in PDF form, thanks to fpdf (pointed out to me by jeffld).

Reader Millington's new book is out.

You should read Acts of gord

Would this experiment work in the UK? I doubt it, but would like to try :)

A perhaps useful resource i put together - the HTML entities table. Because it's online (i already have it in book form, many times over), you can actually see which entities work in which browsers. Snazzy. The table is generated on the fly from the W3C entity DTD.

I signed some of my pool bar reciepts "please insert signature here" on holiday. Others included "Sul loves Stella" and "Efes sucks arse".

So errr there you go

I like the HTML entities table, but what about having a few columns that actually show which browsers it works in... for example, like the CSS table here:
www.westciv.com/style_master/academy/bro...

I don't think it needs to be color coded or anything, since you can't really have a "buggy" entitie, right? ;) But if the table you had just showed that, say an entitie worked in IE4.x, 5.x and 6.x and then showed that another entitie worked in only 5.x and 6.x but not 4.x, etc.

Just my 2 cents.

meh - could do, but it would involve actually viewing the page on a few different browsers. anyone with that sort of time to waste is welcome to send me the info

Someone else has already done it for you

they could really do with reformatting that table so the Y's and N's are properly readable. maybe background colors would help

(i;m not sure if it's colorblindness that making it bad, or if it's just bad in general)

Is Mil Millingtons new book good? I got his last one and it made me laugh so much! Is the new one just as good?
