This guy comes into my cafe yesterday and he told me that he wants to "send the Internet" I quite politely replied that it would be a big job and I would assist him. It's very sweet and innocent from someone who wants to learn more about computers, I thought. But I must admit, I found it very hard not to laugh.
The other funny story was when a clients connection was blocked because he had a virus on his network. When he came in to discuss, we explained that he probably got the virus from someones floppy disk. To which he replied, "oh, the floppy virus?". My colleague and I looked at eachother and decided to reply, "yes, the floppy virus!". We still laugh about that one.
Anyone else got some funny computer user related stories?

How about all the advice Beargod gave me about hardware, and then went and screwed his motherboard to the base plate without using the plastic seperator thingies, fusing the whole thing together with static? :D

I fused it now? It worked fine afterwards, plus I never asked to give you advice you just wanted to lay the blame on someone else and warren wasn't around :P

Cool,
I had some one complaining about the strange and random beeping noise their machine was making. After and extensive look around it was concluded that it was her mobile that was going off.
Most of these stories are kind of you have to be there.

I would make a joke about newbies who, when their computers lock up, they complain that the Internet has crashed. But with the recent actions by VeriSign, it would be quite cruel for newbies like the CEO's of VeriSign.
yeah. verisign, what were they thinking?

Intelligent? Heh heh heh. That sums it up. It's supposed to be a dumb end-to-end network where the innovation is done by individuals rather than by some twats who help only "businesses and consumers" rather than real Internet users.
ah, fake internet users eh?
